the diference is the bees are doing a ob aand the people r killing. do a test with humans pretending to be killers going to places they would kill someone in and record
Maybe the tax payer can fund me in my reseach to find serial killers. I know where at less five are hiding. I can even name them. Dick Cheney, the two Bushers, Obama and Gorden Brown.
i have done quite a bit of research of the predictability of humans. There are A LOT of resemblance to that of fish when confronted with a predator of sorts. But that's for a scenario with at least 20 individuals. The more the clearer the results. It doesn't have much to do with this experiment though, other than I can most certainly see how it should work. People really are more predictable than one might think.
It may be math and I may be a bit too thick to understand but if the bees in the project are sucking fake nectar and how did the researchers set up the home of the bees- base camp- can't see how this works. Meaning bees pick in the wild their own nesting ground and from there go forraging for nectar but how doe sone replicate that using fake props.....and how does it work in relation to serial killers?
@BogusLarry I think the concept here is that serial killers are thought to use a more "primal" or instinctive thought process in choosing their victims, rather than a logical one. Just as bees don't have a logical thought process "I cannot visit any flowers within a 300-foot radius..." the thought is probably that the serial killers are following some sort of primal behavior, and that is why the patterns are predictable. Not all killers are this way, of course, just some.
that doesnt seem to make sense cause yeah they might both use a foreging pattern but i doubt that a criminal is going to act similar to a bee... i can recall humans going to certain resteraunts in a foraging pattern as far as i know
That's true, but the real value for police is if this can help them narrow down their list of possible suspects. Murders commited by someone who was after someone specific are easier to solve than serial murders because the murderer knows the victim and that limits the number of suspects. A serial murderer picks people they don't know, so their list of suspects is huge. If this can help narrow it down small enough that they can investigate everyone on the list, it's a huge help.
Great video, very interesting. I hope they solve the Jack Ripper cases.
I can't help it! Did you guys notice how wierd the voiceover sounded from 0:53 to 0:57? She sounded like a freakin' robot! Like there's no space between her words.
It'd be even better if they could, perhaps, get the bees to find out where the serial killers are and sting them (10 or 20 bees) and incapacitate them, esp. if the serial killer is allergic.
beees are so smart, i have a nest and they know when im going to feed them, they fly around and some watch as i pur them their sugar water into the bowls. i am so shocked by this becuase i would never even think an insect could have that much intelligence!
lol you thought jakc the ripper was fake he was real criminal in london years ago there lot's of myths about him but he did kill people n tkae certain organs some people believe he was a doctor who used the organs to conduct medical epirments which jkinda makes sense in some fucked up kinda way
At first I thought this was going to be something like the way police use the development of insects on a corpse to determine time of death. It is still interesting.

That's a great concept, but this is kind of useless unless the serial killer happens to be a bee.

even if this would have worked, serial killers can watch this on youtube and change the patterns....

@BogusLarry my thoughts exactly.. what the hell do bees foraging patterns have to do with the patterns of serial killers
