There is a HUGE difference. cars, th only resistance is air resistance, which can be great resistance at high speeds. But water, forces MUCH more resistance upon the craft than air. making a boat that can go 240 mils an hour, such a great feat.

As far as I know there are 2 types of boats, displacement boats (slow) and boats that plane (fast). The boats shown here definitely are not displacement boats.

i would say the resistance of the wheels is minuscule compared to air resistance. ever tried pushing a car? it only takes 1 or 2 people to do it. The airflow around it is covered under the whole air resistance aspect i mentioned earlier.

Also, ALL boats plane. except for maybe barges and massive freighters. the only thing that makes these boats stand on there props is the fact that they GO this fast. essentially the trend is, the faster you go, the faster you CAN go. because you will plane high
