All of this happened because of Hurricane Katrina, the park's drainage system failed and was abandoned from 2005 to 2012 were taken Batman ridller attractions and more of the park the park is not reopened because of problems with the insurer and the park remained abandoned no intention of reopening!

Its now on Auction to be purchased by an investment Company to open a State of the Art Mall and Amusement Park with With water rides they are currently in Negotiations!!!!

No. I don't think your cousin was there. I was there the day of Katrina. It was rainy, and cold and windy. They told everyone to leave. Web we left we were kinda scared. Nobody in my family died. But nobody was at the park when it was closing. Unless it was the manager getting money out of cash registers or something.

Katrina is not every year. I am (and lots of others) tired of everyone of thinking another one is coming every year. Now that the hurricane is the past,it shows for us to protect buildings and land more.

six flages in new orleans is not gonna be rebulid, my husband just went to new orleans and our lawyer told us the theme park is in the market for sale at 120,000 but no one is willing to purchese it or even rebulid it on the fear of another hurricane a money lost!! that would be a big lost of investment so sorry people!!!!

The people of New Orleans are seriously delusional to expect Six Flags to invest tens of millions of dollars to rebuild a theme park that hardly did any business BEFORE Katrina destroyed it!

The government should tear down all the levees and let the water go where nature intends it to...then rebuild on dry land. Why rebuild slums in the 9th Ward? So the can be flooded by the next big storm!?
