  • Poor Lotus, driven without heel-toe shifting...it is a car for real driver!

  • Stig did his lap in the wet so you cant claim that

  • @lamborgboy who is stig ?

  • I haven't got a clue but he is very fast

  • @lamborgboy true ... so fck'n true

  • the Stig was wearing high heels and had his stereo cranked making it more difficult

  • the time of the exige is 1:26.4 and the exige S is 1:25.1

  • Comment removed

  • It's fake. You can't beat the Stig

  • it looks like you cut the corner a bit on hammer head. But nice lap!

  • Stig drove on a wet lap with slick tyres

  • Those are Yokohama ADVAN A048s more specifically. Definitely not meant for a wet track.

  • NO double clutch

    NO rev match

    NO heel and toe

you lift the gas too much at least downshift near the apex would be more affective. Its not driving to work, its top gears track fuck. If i had a chance i would rape that car and the track but other than that nice run.

  • And yeah, I agree with chiniita. I didn't even notice there was no heel and toe. The first thing I was checking to see if he'd lift through the follow through. Wasn't a bad lap, just could've been executed better for a better time.

  • Hahha! - You 'lifted' in the 'follow thru'. But nice try :-)

  • The stig ran on a damp track. This is a dry track

  • The only way anything could beat the Stig's time is if it was being compared with Stig's lap driving the studio round the track. And even then, I'm not sure it would beat the studio's time... lol

  • this is the studio track.

  • I would love to be in the passenger seat lol

  • I could beat the stigs lap time by a second on a softer compound tyre... plus you don't know that the car stig drove had been 'run in' which would leave a lot of friction inside the engine... lots of factors. Might have been a car from a different target market. US cars are I believe running a lower compression ratio to deal with the pisswater they call fuel.

  • The track doesn't look partially wet like The Stig's run.

  • Well you beated the stig but I think you did more than 10 laps in that car (The stig did that) and you have fully control of the car. The Stig doesn't have it so he doesn't know the car like you. Also someone who has an Enzo could beat the Stig because you drive it much more than him and probably you have more practice.

  • no rev matching? no heel toe?

  • its the stig...stuff like that slows him down =)

  • there is NO supercharger wine.... thats the transmission, do you hear a supercharger BOV? no i didnt think so

  • hate to say it but superchargers dont need a bov; because as they are powered by the engine, the chargers' rpm's reflect that of a certain ratio to the engine. So if you install a bov on a supercharger it will spin the charger down faster, which in turn will only create mechanical drag for the motor: thus making you go slower.

But i agree with you, it is the transmission making that sound.

  • the exige s2 does not have the beast gear syncro i think he should be double clutching on his down shifts.....but then again thats just my opinion

  • that thing is not naturally aspirated, you can hear the supercharger whine. when the engine goes up to high rpm, the whine goes up to high boost with it.

  • anyone knows if the stig uses power shifting , heel and toe , etc ... ??

  • Also you don't really know how different the car setups are... So this doesn't proove anything...

  • So that's how it looks:)

  • and wat time were u trying to beat?!?!? the lap time set in the suzuki liana or the lap time he set in the Ascari A10? im not impressed

  • just amasing!!

  • Terrible shifting. Just terrible.

  • Time to shoot the driver and get a new clutch.

I know a guy that shifted like that and every car he has driven that had a clutch, it was worn down to the rivets in about 2 months.

  • He was trying to beat a time. Im sure he doesnt actually drive like that every day.

  • they spelled terrorist wrong.

so he beat an acting race car driver. so fucking what.

  • he didnt beat the stig the stig got an astin martin db9 sport around there in 1:15

  • Yeh well maybe he dint beat the stig with the aston but hes not driving the aston hes driving the lotus witch means he beated the time of the stig when he drove that lotus. Aston Martin is wayy diferent than the lotus

  • aston is heavier

  • my mum can shift better than that

  • That is some bad shifting...gas was still in during lots of the shifts and he wasn't heel-toe shifting, either. Plus, the track was mildly wet when the Stig drove the car...and I'm looking at the time and it didn't look faster than 1:26 to me...but it was close.

  • He is powershifting the car like you would in a drag race. The lotus doesn't make a whole lot of power so powershifting it will be faster.

  • whats power shifting oh knowing one?

  • exactly what he is doing. Throttle to the floor, clutch in grab a gear clutch out as fast as you can do it. On something as underpowered as a lotus it might net him a few tenths on the lap time. No, its not good for the car, but it looks like he doesn't care.

  • oh, flat shifting.. yeah.. slightly

  • now turn the traction control off

  • That has to be some of the worst shifting ever... you hit the rev limiter many times, you're on the throttle/not off the clutch quickly enough, etc.

  • 1:29

  • Wheres the time print out?

Anyone could drive round the track and say they beat the Stigs time.

  • I agree. The only way someone can beat the Stig's time is if it's compared to Stig's lap in a paddle-powered shopping trolley.

  • dude, u lifted on the follow through, u naughty boy!!!

  • good lap but he could have shaved half a second off that easily with practice

  • They say he has 4 knee caps, and he eats eggs with the shells on them, we know him as...the stig!

was this a lotus? idk hard to tell

  • yeah i think it was lotus elise

  • Lotus Exige S2

  • Hard to tell can you read?

  • yh it was a lotus exige

  • Honestly, there was so much lifting in that film clip...a bit of a girl!

  • excellent piece of drivin stiggy. he did do the whole coarse he goes into the first corner up towards chicago then on towards the hammer head down towards the follow through lifts off slightly goes throught the tires towards the second to last corner into gambon and across the line

  • This guy didn't do the complete track he cut out a part of it

  • Who drove it ?? the lap time is around 1:28 astonishing !!

  • No way this is faster than the Stig's time. This isn't particularly impressive. The Stig is one hell of a driver... I wouldn't advocate trying to beat his times... certainly not on the Top Gear track.

  • that car needs a new clutch

  • I think it's a pretty good lap actually.

  • All that aside it was good to see the track from the drivers shoulder!!

  • Yeh lol

  • My comment was addressed to kidgoku666's words. No idea why youtube scripts haven't placed it right under his one, where the "reply" comment should be.

  • Better than the stig? Frankly that video was pathetic. Gear changes were too slow, and you weren't accelerating at the right points. For example, you held back when passing the tire wall, when you're supposed to go flat-out. Get over yourself and get some lessons.

  • Certainly you can do better only no one could have ever witnessed this.

  • YOU ARE NOT THE STIG!!! get over it and post you vids under a diffrent title.

  • I am the STIG

  • The stig time on the lap with the lotus was done in wet conditions.

  • yeah. and also, this was a good lap, but anyone could have done it with some practice. this lap wasnt done anywhere near the possible limit. i guess a professional racing driver would try to do it better

  • but no-one knows if maybe Lotus told them to take it easy on the transmission, or something on that nature. Not all cars are licensed to thrash it like you stole it.Think top gear records show he is mighty fast round the track so cant be doing that much wrong.Mcrae and burns drove differently but got same results, though mcrae could be faster though not as smooth

  • you mean might have been. rip colin.

  • He changes gear like a duck!

  • Comment removed

  • no heel and toe, engine breaking, riding throttle changing up, agressive steering.

  • hahahaha, one of the best posts on youtube....someone how knows what hes talking about, awsome!

  • lol get some driving lesson man

  • let me break it down...

this is all dependant upon the fact that white Stig has always been one person.

1)Few have been around that track nearly as many times as The Stig.

2)I don't know who this "Tarmac Terrosist" is; but he can't shift, and probably isn't an F1 driver.

3)No one can outdrive The Stig; I do believe if someone ever proves themselves to be a better driver than The Stig... they must become The Stig.

Like the Highlander, there can be only one.

  • i completely agree the stig is the best driver iv'e ever seen even if the koenigsegg ccx through him for one hell of a ride

  • gear changes sucked!

  • Ladies & Gentlemen! there has been some confusion: Stig did that lap in that car in 1.26.4 so actually nearly 9 seconds faster than this guy...

  • Upshifts are appalling learn to release the clutch faster or lift the throttle off a bit more.

  • stig had wet and semislicks and that guy shifts too late.

plus he's the stig. u can't beat him, everyone knows that.

btw i could beat that time in a gold x-reg ford focus 1.8 estate coz it's the best car ever.

  • I dont see how this guy could possibly beat The Stig, he shifted too late most of the time... but the Lotus Exige probably has the best handling of any street legal production car in the world so I guess it's possible.

  • if i remember correctly, the stig did it in a damp/mildly wet track with semi-slicks on

  • yes the stig did drive on a damp track with semi slicks.

  • the stig does have practice laps, top gear have a noble track car. but the stig also beat nigel mansell and damon hill round the track check the tg website!

  • 1.26.47

  • not a "thing" ould beat THE STIG in a car...

  • he didn't beat the stig i calculated his time to be at 1 min 26 sec the stig did it in 1min 25 sec .1

  • wasn't the track wet when the stig drove it?

  • yep, good point

  • of course the stig has practise laps u fukin retard

  • what, do you think from this clip alone this is the only lap he's ever done on this track?

  • You can sort of tell that guy has been around that track many times before with that car. Stiggy never gets practice laps.

  • Trust me. He does. They just don't show them very often.

  • IDiots the DBR9 did this in 1:08.6 seconds.

  • In case you didn't pay attention, the stig doesn't get practice laps, he just goes and does it. He's said before that if he could do some of them again he could take off a lot of time. This guy has obviously taken this car around the track enough to know it pretty well.

  • i doubt that the stig would care that you beat its time... it has no emotion ;)

  • Fook me that looks quick on that stretch at the beginning, wish my car could do that lol.

  • Japanese drivers do not get past the touring level. That's why they have a lot of practice driving average cars, but the stig would dominate them in formula 1.

  • beaten or not, the Stig will always kick-ass.

  • The Stig drove in the wet... but it was a quite good drive though

  • If you want to try to "beat the stig" see plansmotorsport com

  • umm all pro divers have skills and some are better that others in different things i don't think the drift king could beat a formula one driver in a race but he is very good at what he does

  • actaully the drift king was a f1 driver... a japanese f1 driver...

  • actually he was a japanese touring car driver it tells you in the extra bits on the tokyo drift dvd in the real dk section as he did some of the drifting for the movie

  • Well, as well as that, he also was at Le Mans.

  • come on...put the stig vs the crew of best motoring (keiichi tsuchiya, gan san (kurosawa), orido and the others, he gonna have his ass kicked in tsukuba circuit...or anywhere...all japanese pro drivers got skills!

  • I think the stig is really chuck noris

  • Great drive by the tarmac terrorist! Smooth, controlled, coommitted and fast - well done whoever you are ;)

  • Well, very good driving, but I have to point out that "The Stig" did it in the wet. It looked decently dry there for you. Still congrats on a good run. Any mods?

  • did stig drive the same car? and of course, as it was told - Stig did drive on wet

  • Cut the corner on the hammerhead too I think :p

    Still a great drive though!

  • did stig drive the exact same car? sounds to me like this Exige S2 has rs14 brakes pads...

  • C'EST IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Nobody can beat the Stig, not nobody, not nowhere, not nohow. The stig probably could have beaten that time with his godly powers... he just doesn't want to...

And I've always wondered what the track looks like from a first-person view.

  • I've wondered that too
