It's a "field box", often used for R/C airplanes. They are sold as kits at places like Tower Hobbies, and are a bit of a pain to assemble. I bought this one used at a local hobby shop.
hey man great video. I am looking to get this model. Looks like it will stay up right pretty well I acutally figgured they would flip easy. Never had a boat or a Nitro model r/c how would you say this would be for a first. I have Several 1/10 and a 1/8 rc trucks but no boats.
You "might" be able to start it with a chicken stick, but I highly doubt it. Some motors fire very easily, such as any of the OS Max ones I've previously owned. Even with an electric starter, it takes 10-30 seconds to get it to light off sometimes. And if you flip it, and you WILL, the plug needs to be pulled, and the motor spun to blow the water out of the cylinder. Buy a $20 starter from Tower Hobbies (their brand), you won't regret it.

how did u retrieve the muffler?

I was lucky. The flexible exhaust tube kept the muffler attached to the hull. Otherwise it would have been in the bottom of the pond...
