I was adopted out of my Navajo family, the Kirks in the Chinle Family Court on July 15, 1971 w/o their knowledge to a mormon family bc my mother died. I became foster child through the Bureau of Indian Affairs. They arranged the adoption.
I finally reunited with my family because of problems due to the Real ID Act of 2005. My reunion occurred by chance Christmas wkend 2011 where I met my Uncle, spent the wkend w/him. We talked about what occurred & reconciled. 40 years of separation. I feel U.
That 's the great Peter Mc Donald in the hearings. He was the best Nav. chairman of all time--but became a fall guy by later chairmen. Peter was better than all of them put together. He was a man of the people. He cared.
that's the great Peter Mc Donald in the hearing--he was unfairly blindsided by later parties. He did more good for the Nav. nation than all the later second rate chairmans put together. He was a man of the people.
@xKelseyx05 I am Sharon and I was adopted to Missionaries and this was the first Mission we lived at. We called the 2 yr old boy "Little Johnny Wayne" He was named by WAyne and the film can be purchased at AMAZON Books. Monument Valley is beautiful especially at Sunset.
The boy's family were in several films and because the NAVAJO is a PEACEFUL tribe they made them to look like Comanche. The SEARCHERS is one of the films they are in with John Wayne.
i really liked this documentary. they showed it to us in my college class. I'm navajo from tuba and my great grandma lived her life nearly the same as john wayne cly.
