  • Anyone else notice that the music used here in this featurette is from Twisted Metal Black?

  • Hmm a sequel? I can't imagine what they could do with the story from here on. I mean, pretty much all the loose ends were tied up and the entire story was told very well already. It sounds interesting, but really is there anything they could do to keep it going and make it interesting? idk I think the first movie stands so well on its own that a sequel would just be, in a way, repeating the original movie over again. Has the director or anyone actually been talking about a possible sequel?

  • We want Coraline 2 !!!!

  • kan godt lide den her flim den er bare lidt unlige men det skal den osse være

  • they probably couldnt afford tim burton

  • @mnzacg If you had the choice between Tim Burton or "the director of The Nightmare Before Christmas" to work on your movie, who would you pick?

  • @UberMan5000 I would have picked Tim Burton :D

  • @pumkinchunkin123 I suppose if you wanted the movie to suck, like Alice in Wonderland, you would pick Tim Burton.

  • @UberMan5000 I honestly don't think it would have sucked if it was directed by Tim Burton. Hes my favorite.

  • @pumkinchunkin123 It might not have sucked, but it certainly wouldn't have been as good. Tim Burton's best movie wasn't even directed by him, so y'know, food for thought.

  • @UberMan5000

I think the director of the night before Christmas was Tim Burton.

  • @annie10103 No, The Night Before Christmas was written by Clement Clarke Moore. Poems don't really have "directors", but he would be the closest thing to a director.

If you actually mean The Nightmare Before Christmas, here's a quote from the Wikipedia page:

"The Nightmare Before Christmas, often promoted as Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, is a 1993 American stop motion musical fantasy film directed by Henry Selick and produced/co-written by Tim Burton."

    Look it up.

  • @UberMan5000

Oh right sorry its just at the start it always says Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.

  • @annie10103 Tim Burton produced it.

  • @UberMan5000

    Ohhkay.......

  • love this film !

  • press alt and the 2 thats on the number pad and release

  • i loved this movie, but i want to see it in 3D.

  • i lost my dvd 4 coraline :(

  • I love this movie I liked it so much I bought the 2 disc dvd. This movie is my all time fav.

  • Coraline wins big at the Annie Awards! It takes home Best Original Music for Bruno Coulais' soundtrack, Best Production Design and Best Character Design. Next up: the BAFTA awards!

  • ☻_☻

She drew me in with candy...

  • That must have been some good candy.

  • @UberMan5000

    It was...

  • @Saruman54231 whoa.. how'd ya make the button eyes?

  • when i saw it at the movies everyone was like oh my gosh she said oh my god and i was like wtf not that big of a deal

  • I know, but you must admit that's more ballsy than any other kid's films do these days.

  • true true

  • Isn't that the guy who does the Apple ads for Macs at 0:38?

  • John Hodgman? Yeah, he plays the PC.

  • iThought Tim Burton made Nightmare Before Christamas and Coraline.......it looks so like Tim Burton :(

  • No, Tim Burton didn't even make Nightmare Before Christmas. That was done by the same director who did Coraline. People would say that this "looks like Tim Burton" because it looks like the Nightmare Before Christmas. It's funny that once of Burton's most iconic films wasn't even made by him. X3

If you want to see a stop-motion movie that Tim Burton actually made, you should see Corpse Bride.

  • Actually, it was based on his poem and the characters/character design/story/most of the script was all by him. He didn't have time to direct it though, especially since stop-motion is a notoriously time-consuming medium, since he was working on the Batman movies at the time. It is, however, a "Tim Burton movie". I do believe Henry Selick is a genius though.

  • It's as much "his movie" as he came up with the idea. Someone still had to actually make it, though, and I'm inclined to give them a bit more credit.

  • Which is absolutely fabulous though, so don't feel sad :P Tim Burton did write and produce The Nightmare Before Christmas though ;)

Loved Coraline btw, I still think stopmotion animation is insane haha

  • this movies rocks the house out!

  • In the book coraline had brown hair.

  • There's a photograph in the movie where Coraline has brown hair, she apparently dyed it in the movie to look more interesting.

  • i've seen coraline on DVD, its quite good

  • the boy that plays in this movie, coralines little friend at the pink palace look likes David, Rosannes Daughters boyfriend..off the Roseanne show

  • BRAVOOO!! BRAVOOO!!!

  • i have the movie but its a copy sucks but still great and im almost done whith the book

  • Neil Gaiman is a geniuos.

  • the only part im confused with is the ghost are animation or clay

  • They were animated with clay and I think they did some special effects to the animation to make them transparent and to make them move differently.

  • its clay or what ever does r made of its stop motion but i think they use the coumputer to make the ghost clear

  • ooooo i got tht movie on meh ipod :)

  • awesome :0

  • if u rlly liked the movie u should buy the dvd w/ 3d glasses coz i bought one myself and the 3d glasses works great.

  • hows this movie good bad or what?

  • It's incredible. Go see it.

  • Its definatly a good movie. im not a big fan of anim but still loved it

  • it's awesome. you should really see it.

  • oh but it would be cool if they made a numger 2!! : )

  • No it wouldn't, I think it would be terrible and not make any sense. Neil Gaiman's not a "sequel" kinda guy, and this story had pretty tight closure.

  • omgogmomg yes !!

    your totally right!!

omgomg im so excited ! this is such a great movie !!xx

  • Coraline 2: THIS TIME IT'S PERSONAL!!! :O

Interesting idea, to be sure, but it sounds a bit like one of the Terminator sequels, I must be honest. :3

One of the things that was important about Coraline, though, is that there's only "one key", so the Other Mother wanted it in the story, but Coraline kept it from her. She can't open the way again without the key, no matter how hard she bangs on it.

And now that it's gone, she'll never be able to take any children again. :)

  • what do u mean coriline number 2! r thay making another movie about her!!!!! : 0

  • No, it was a joke title for Superjailgal's idea. There's no Coraline 2, whether it's a book or a movie.

  • No sequel is necessary, AT ALL. Neil Gaimon made the book a perfect fit, the ending was basically a "Happily ever after".

As was the movie, and both made the picture clear.

For one thing, there's only one key, for another, technically Other Mother is dead. I think people, who've read the book, would be disappointed if a sequel were made.

  • @charmed6057

Good im glad the other mother's dead. You dont need to see the film to know shes damn evil! :)

  • @annie10103 but i do need to see the film if i wanna know that she was going to die. Or so i thought.

  • @MrGodzillahin

I bet you can find it on the internet somewhere. I mean its been out for a while. Do a bit of google searching and see if anything comes up :)

  • @annie10103 got the hint;)

  • i've seen this yesterday! ohh it was sooo great! and scary!!!

  • cool. i love this movie and the book. i hope they make a movie like this for ghostgirl!

  • Ghost Girl? Is that the book about a girl who chokes to death on a Gummi Bear and spends her afterlife trying to wedge herself back into the world of the living? Lovely book and I liked the illustrations and the sayings preceding each chapter.

  • Coraline its a great movie.

    You have to see it.

  • I LOVE THIS FILM

  • i really wanna see this movie everoyne says its really scary hehe i really wanna see it.

  • Eh, the movie's not scary.

  • it's not very scary but it's incredebly creepy!!!

  • For me, there were only one or two parts in the movie that got me, but that's just it.

    The book sent me chills!

  • man, i hope this wins an Oscar for Best Animated Feature, unless Pixar steals the spotlight again...

  • It's a closer race than it usually is, but I have pretty high expectations for "Up" ;)

  • My mates keep putting buttons in there eyes to scare me grrr!

  • i saw this the button eyes creep me out :) lol

  • they gonna fuck u up!

  • does anyone know when it will come out on DVD?

  • June 16.

  • July 21th

  • the puppet was mechanical,,, cool! i thought they were just made of wires... really cool! extreme engineering in creative twist!

  • i lov lov lov lov lov Coraline nd Neil Gaiman! i need to meet him! lol hah and i lov HEnry Selick 2.I mean The Nightmare Before Chritsmas is a living legend.I just wanted to say i enjoyed reading Coraline very much! it gave me the chillssssss! =P

  • Where's Tim Burton?!!!

  • He's off somewhere not being the monkey on Henry Selick's back for once.

  • he is not a monkey

  • I was speaking metaphorically.

  • i lov tim burton! hes cool.

  • Does anyone know when it's out in England? I'm dying to watch it!

  • IMDb says it comes out in the UK on May 8th.

  • Does every showing be in 3D?

  • No, but it's much better in 3D.

  • MUCH!!!

  • ok, NBC isn't brilliant, but it was the 1st stop-motion musical.

  • ii cant find it in any websites not even on youtube :( ii realy wanna see it

  • It'll be released in Spain on August 14. Just be patient.

  • This movie is perfect!!! =D

  • aww i sorry but tim burtin had nothing to do with this even though i love his work also but him and Henery worked together in tnbc but not this

  • Yeah, but for the movie called 9, Tim Burton's producing it, and Focus Features is working on making that movie. Kind of a strange arrangement, don't you think?

  • so wait... tim burton had NOTHING to do with this movie? he had to have SOME influence on this! at least with the character animation! it has the same tone and art style as a tim burton movie! NOOO! someone please tell me he had something to do with coraline. everywhere i look it says not just selick but burton had say in coraline as well.

  • No. This may come as a surprise to you, but Tim Burton actually had very little to do with ANY of his stop-motion movies, like The Nightmare Before Christmas. Henry Selick was the one that actually directed that film; all Burton did was come up with the idea and a couple of character designs. This is probably why this movie "reminds you of Burton", because Selick is the man that ACTUALLY made his movies. I'm personally glad Burton's name isn't plastered all over Selick's latest effort.

  • u broke my dreams

    hahahahahah

well i prefer more coraline than nbc

  • Well, people need to know the truth. :)

  • Yupperz, he did. don't despair, he did a but of it... something I don't know, I'll hafta find that one, I know almost everything about the movie, I've read bthe book four times, have the soundtrack to the movie, and saw the movie twice in a week, in the same theater in 3D.

  • No, he didn't. The movie isn't listed anywhere in his IMDb credits, and his name appears nowhere on the Coraline IMDb page, even as an uncredited member. I've also read the book many times, have the soundtrack, and seen the movie twice in the same week (three times, actually), AND have actually been keeping up with its production. Tim Burton was not involved. He's too busy working on 9. A guy named Richard Kent Burton was the special effects animator, but he's not related to him.

  • r u really talking obout the movie cause what does caroline have to do with michigan

  • I'm talking about the movie, and where did I mention Michigan?

In the movie, Coraline is from Michigan.

  • I saw this movie 3 times because it's the most awesomest movie I have EVER seen! There is a small chance I might see it again XD lol

  • WHAT! someone who TRUMPS ME? I'll beat that the second I get it on myiPod!

  • lol ^ ^

  • omg i wsa in love with nightmare before christmas, but after i watched this this is my new alltime fav movie!!♥♥ wats wrong w/ emos likeing the same movies as you??

  • gooooooooooooood movie.

  • I LOVE MUVIE

  • I wish it was just a lick scarier, but any scene that had the use of white lights were my favorites :D

  • awesome picture at 1:37

  • spooky moovie i swear (i like someone in the movie to)

  • Waaaaaaiiit....I thought Tim Burton directed this and The Nightmare Before Christmas...my world is crumbling!!!!

  • Good. There's a truer, better world behind it. ;)

  • he wrote it

  • no, he didnt

    he just put the money

  • what do you mean?

  • he just put the money for the movie.

for making the puppets, the animation and that stuff

    thats it

he didnt wrote it or directing or anything else

  • it says he wrote it on imdb

  • Tim Burton did not direct Nightmare Before Christmas. The dude who wrote this was the real director. They never say Tim Burton wrote Nightmare Before xmas they just say it is "Tim Burton's".The story is this; this director happened to be looking in Tim Burton's sketch book and saw characters that are now in night mare before Christmas. So Tim Burton just had a few doodles of what later became characters that inspired this director to make a movie. They used Tim Burton's name to get publicity.

  • euf, i didnt say he directed it. he wrote the script, and so did someone else

  • Alrighty then.

  • rly?

    : /

well, maybe he wrote a few parts.

howevah im soooo sick of the tim burton fever :/

    first nightmare before christmas....now coraline.

    whyyyy?

coraline is more great than nightmare before christmas.

Now the emos r in luv whit coraline.

    gosh.

my post have no sense hahaha

  • LOL thats so true.

  • Tim Burton had nothing to do with this film. Also, I must say that this movie is at least a million times better than NBC, in both plot AND character development. The only bad part of Coraline was the ghosts (which were REALLY fail).

  • the ghost hahahahahahahahah

    shittyghosts

but the caracthersss...dunno, have moar "feelings" (?) than nightmarebeforechristmas.

    and, yeah is moar better.

so, if tim burton have nothing to do whit coraline?

why the put tim burton names in the trailer?

    im fuckin confusedhahaha

  • Burton's name shouldn't be in the trailer? I think people get confused like this: the film Burton produced, NBC, was *directed* by Henry Selick. Mr. Selick is now directing Coraline, and is the common link between Coraline and NBC, not Tim Burton. :-)

  • Tim Burton produced the Nightmare Before Christmas...

  • Coraline said Oh my god in a weird way.

    LOL

  • i am so addicted to this movie. is there a twelve step program for it? or maybe Coraline Anonymous?

  • the way Coraline said oh my god, sounded weird.

  • Mi-shi-gin accent. ;)

  • Now it sounds hot.

  • i'm from michigan... and that's not how i... nor anyone else i know talks. lol

  • Are you from Pontiac?

  • Nope. Have you actually seen the movie?

  • Definitely not! The comment reeks of lameness.

  • yea, when I went there was no kids in the theater at all. that movie is barely for kids lol hell, it almost had nudity; giant puppet boobs are not as cool as they sound lol

  • lol yea

  • that movie was so awsome i can wait till it comes out on dvd im so stoked!!

  • Absolutely awesome movie. They did a brilliant job of bringing Neil's creepy, quirky story to life. I think Henry and Neil are a perfect fit and I do hope they have the opportunity to work on other projects in the future. I will definitely watch this movie again, Neil Gaiman rocks:)

  • this movie looks awsome in 3d i watch it yesterday mad nice! give it 5 stars : )

  • on :15 it showed that coraline has brown or black hair

  • At 0:15 it showed the Laika logo. What drugs are you smoking?

  • Yep. They are getting lazy. So lazy that they can't even proof read their own comment before posting it. "Boom, mivies"

  • OMG Im soo exited i get to see this movie today. Its amazing to me how they made the movie. They did a great job

  • I"M GOING TO SEE THE MOVIE TODAY!!!!!

  • IM DYING TO SEE THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Totally worth it. :3 I saw it my second time yesterday. (the people at the theater gave me weird looks, lawl)

  • OH MY GOD!! XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD

  • didnt Neil Gamman make a new book? Its something about graveyards i know that though

  • That would be "The Graveyard Book". It recently won the Newbury Medal. It's a hell of a read.
