hey!!! yukoner!!! it's nice to see people hunting in my home!!! we usually take to the rivers for hunting. the pelly is our favorite but we've taken the stewart a few times (at least we did before the fire a few years ago) where abouts did you go for this one? beauty shot!!
so why did you take the 1st one as some as it made land on the other side of the river, instead of talking, do you not wear orange, I sure would not want to be in the bush in cameo in open rifle season, to dam many clowns, plus it is the law up here
@arnoldcustom The bull by the river in the opening scene was spotted by a sheep hunter in late August. Our first moose hunter in September went back and found the bull again a few miles away. It was a very old moose. We do not have to wear orange in the Yukon. There are no other hunters...or clowns where we hunt, just pure wilderness.
the only shoot i ever do, right in the high neck, no running at all, they drop right were there standing, being i can't walk i have to do it that way.
Don't think of neck shots on moose with a 30-06 !
My only time I as almost killed in 18 years of guiding big game animals was by a Hugh moose in Alaska shot by my cleint in the neck .
That moose laid their untill I walked up to it then it jumped up charged at me from 15" .
I was hit in the face with the palm as I shot the moose in the brisked point blank range .
That moose fell dead right on top of me cause us problems getting it off me .
Most scary hunting event I had ever been through !
