  • ^_^ wow a nice little tutoreil thanks :)

  • Nice. Thanks. Accessible, and exactly what I needed to get started. Thank you.

  • I think wearing alternative clothing is really helpful (I have tons of studded belts available ;D)

  • @DeathXMetalXCraze Power to the freaks. I myself have plenty of jewelry and clothing i could use for steampunk material.

  • after the rub and buff do you use clear coat? doesn't it rub off afterwards if you don't?

  • "and please have somthing under the glue gun because you dont want to ruin your mothers cherry oak table"......I have already done this multiple times xD

  • wow this is amazing..thanks.. you rock

  • this is better then indy mogul

  • Thanks for the tutorial :) I'm making my room in steampunk style and I think I will hang my gun on the wall.Once I'm done I will post a video of it :D

  • What a cool chick! Thanks a bunch. Great video!

  • Awesome tutorial! Thanks so much! I have a set of water guns and I'm gonna use your technique here! I'm cosplaying as a random Steampunk girl for Puerto Rico's Comi Con and its gonna be my first cosplay ever, hopefully it will turn out nicely! Thanks!

  • thanks so much for this! I not American so I dont know where to find the special 'paint' you use. But I think i'll fix sort something out! and I love your comments during the vid, they're hilarious!

  • This'll show those overpricing con pricks that steampunk isn't expesensive as they make it.

  • I love sarcastic ADHD folks like you!

    ^_^

  • Great tutorial dude!

  • you loo so familiar. i dont know why.

  • That gun at the end was freakin awesome and then I saw the ribbon and the whole thing sucks

  • @TheHaydster1 It took that long for you to realize that that was a girl's gun? lol

  • @TheHaydster1 well you get to make it however you like....I'd seen a drawing and got inspiration for it.

  • I didn't catch this in the video, but does a coat of spray finish help keep the Rub & Buff on the gun? The problem I'm having now is that as soon as I touch the gun, the Rub & Buff comes off, even after 24 hours of drying. ...Awesome stuff, that Rub & Buff is. Thanks for bringing my attention to it!

  • @BlipoutProductions Yeah it's a good idea to put on the spray coat....I didn't though. If you used a matte black paint it shouldn't come off so easy. If it was glossy it'll smear. :/

  • You can get Rub N Buff at Hobby Lobby too! :D

  • @princessnekosama That must be somewhere I'm not because I would probably be living there lol! Thanks for the update on locations! :D

  • @RagTagStudios S'cool. I know there are Hobby Lobby stores in Houston, don't know how far they spread. :D IT's awesome stuff, I made a gun following your tutorial!

  • @princessnekosama [I'm under a different name now lol] AWESOME!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!!

  • @RagTagStudios What about using a carved sponge instead of painting for that?

  • Not true about the paint! Just use a boar bristle dry brush effect. Very Easy! I couldn't afford the rub-n-buff so I used all acrylic paint. Another good tip, if you aren't using spray paint, sand the hell out of it with emery cloth.

  • @blackfeatherswan : Huh...good point! I didn't have a boar bristle dry brush, so it didn't occur to me. The only thing with the emery cloth is that it just makes a rough texture on the toy gun right? It's like sandpaper and takes off the top layers of paint to reveal the black plastic beneath for yours right? I used neon colored clear plastic guns so the black paint was enevitable to get the rub n buff to work.

  • are you ok. ur eyes are squintinting also you have too much time on ur handslol

  • @Pepperdog12 : Lol! Yeah I was fine, I just squint a lot when I'm trying to recall something from the bowels of my memory heh. I WISH I had too much time on my hands! I was doing this for a class ^_^

  • ok so im watching your video cuz i like people getting creative in steam punk

but i noticed your newspaper siad something about hackers ?

    what did it say?

    what paper?

    weird.....

  • @stanrock0 : Oh geez...LOL!! I have no idea...it was an old paper from the East Bay in the SF bay area from a few days before I posted this video. Contra Costa Times I think....??? Dunno if it matters anymore, sorry.

  • Flippin SWEET!

  • @benzlover55 THANKS! :D

  • can i put 3in. nails sticking out the top?

  • @shloop4 : Yeah no prob, unless you actually want to use it for water, then it wouldn't be so great an idea because the water would leak. If you use caulking or some sort of water sealing epoxy around where you make the holes for the nails it should be okay though....

  • Great tutorial. One thing missing from your kit...tubes. Some little tubes painted to look metal can be just awesome.

  • @KefkeWren : :holds up finger: Ah.....SOOOO TRUE!!! XD That would be kickass! Thanks for the tip~! <3

  • You are awesome. Can we go out sometime?

  • @dogburgers : Wow, thanks! ^_^

I'm honestly flattered but unfortunately I can't do long distance relationships. It's always a crash and burn scenario for me.

  • Pretty sweet.

    But, Splenda = fucking gross.

  • @zex84 Thanks.....Splenda....? Well at least Splenda isn't as bad as Equal and anything containing asperatime. That crap turns your joint fluid into fermaldehyde over long periods of consumption.

  • this video was really helpful, thanks

  • @jacobk42 No problemo! Glad to be of assistance.

  • I love this tutorial so much!! But I don't understand english so much.. Can you tell me what colors you use? All colors without black. Can you tell me? 'cause you use the hand for this colors.. I don't want make a mistake. Thank you!! ;)

  • @MariehamnDe Color paints are : Black, Silver, Copper, Gold. :D Hope that helps!

  • @ riseOfDakar: You get your own comment! I'm glad you've left this comment for me. I find it very....deploring that you would immediately take the clip I left in for it's laugh factor as a disparaging comment on my gender instead of it's intended laugh at human error.

Your comment has been duly noted and pronounces your infecundity.

I take great solace in the fact that you will one day die. Probably at the hands of a woman. :p

  • I have not heard of this "Toy" you speak of....I must find this person!!!

In terms of time....about and hour to an hour and a half each? Approximately? Depends on the Do-Dads you add onto it and how detailed you want to get. And how well your fingers work. I dunno, depends on a lot but generally speaking doesn't take much time.

  • Sealer is a negative....I think. If you're not careful then it might chip off. You can use a clear coat if you want a shiny finish or if you're afraid of your dog or cat mauling it and shredding the paint or if you're going to trapize through the forest battling it out with your buds. I've had my guns since before making the videos and they're still pretty and I've put them through the wringer. Do what you think is best.

  • do you have to put a sealer on this? :o

  • Very awesome! This looks like lots of fun to do. I can't wait to try it! :D *5 stars*

  • this is awesome! Halloween is coming up so glad I found this vid. About how long did this project take from start to finish?

  • After discovering this video today, I plan to get the R&B stuff and extra material to transform a plastic squirt gun into something so awesome.

  • Do you need to seal it, like Toy did, "with a layer of clear coat?"

  • TO WALMART!

This was a very good video!

I'm on my way to a convention that is Steampunk based in a few weeks and started on a gun sooooo

    Thanks!

  • Thank you! This was extremely helpful! ^^

  • No problem! Glad this helped :)

  • Cant believe you're doing the same gun I did!Did mine in a copper finish with wood grain pistol grip.We should talk!

  • How did you do the wood grain grip? Was it some of that thin wood inlay stuff or paper?

  • It was actually tempera paint and this stuff called antiqueing medium with a layer of clear coat to finish.I was interested in your use of the rub and buff paint also.I tried both micheal's and Joanne fabrics to no avail. Can you think of another place that might carry it.Thank you. You've been most helpful.

  • @Toysoldier22613 Wow, it's been so long sorry. Online is the only other suggestion I have. :(
