Actually, there are still some Hawaiian Ole-timers around that know what turtle tastes like, how to prepare it! Someday, I hope they are legal, say One take/year (lottery)..who knows!

Leo, mahalo (I bought a red filter, brings out more color). Yes, the Uhu got off...I chased him (scar on back, too high shot..). Never found him, he ducked into hole once...but didn't stay put! I went got a new barb, I lost a few fish lately!

(I feel bad he got away, gonna be crab meat sooner or later).

The Uhu (blue or red Parrot fish) is really tasty, that's my preferred game! This one actually got away (after it was shot...reef is large, lots of holes, and they swim way faster than humans...once they got out of sight it's very hard to track them down).

It sure looked like you got off a good shot.well some fish got a easy meal so not a total loss.when the river would flood and then go back down there would be a lot of bass catfish that you could not get to the mud was deep enough to get you so we tied a fishing reel to a cross bow.umm blue cat umm white bass ummm red bass.Would that work underwater?

Oh yeah, I have seen that National Geo (I think), shooting fish with bow&arrow. I know that works on Salmon up in Alaska when they start running! I guess you could think of a speargun as an Underwater Crossbow (never thought of that way, but it's true). Rather than storing energy laterally (like a bow), the speargun stores in longitudanal axis (water has a lot of drag) in the stretched rubber bands (some use compressed air).
