I know they brought a prototype to California back in '08 but as far as i am concerned they never actually released the vehicle to dealerships nation wide due to the EPA's standard for a urea injection. However, if this is not the case, I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me where I could get one.

Great review. I think the only one showing 2.0TDI with Tiptronic!!! Because of that I've decided to get Tiptronic instead of 170BHP with manual. What is more because of this video I've decided to order sunroof:) Thanks for that! now I'm waiting - 7 more weeks:/

awesome review there...we have a TDI Tiguan like the one tested got everything bar the hid/xion light the park thingo (don't do much of it) and the moon roof) but got special 19in VW rims with it and the bluetooth.....it is an awesome car to drive i feel sorry to the yanka that don't get the TDI (or 4 motion (AWD) as standard) cause of there stupid emtions ...the TDI uses crap all fuel....i mean 54litre tank will get you to brisy to sydney i'm pretty sure love the hills and corners...canes them.

This is what u get from a company with NO extensive expirience in so-called SUV manufacturing. Just because the market segment is so popular everybody wants to jump-in in. Cars-on-hi-heels. If buyers research a little bit before buying, they be able to know the real deal. not because everybody and their mom drives CRV then now you want the same and it became a big seller too, how much u know about the vehicle, nothing really!

What a very nice car! Why doesn't VW come out with a Tiguan hybrid diesel? Why is this diesel engine not available in the United States? With the Tiguan's 40/60 mpg, & the massive number of people ditching their SUVs, why isn't VW jumping on this cash cow? Are the Arabs bribing the VW execs too?

american emission regulations(california, new york etc). The after treatment equipment is so expensive that its not woth it on smaller cars(low marginals, no profit for companies). thats why you see E series diesel and 335d in north america but not cheaper models.
