  • Thank you, very good explanation

  • are this pattern can be in any other key? i mean if i want to be in a roots of b, then i just have to use this pattern in a key of b? thank you

  • Holy Smokes!

I want to be able to do that!

So I am working on Am pentatonic scale and u do your lesson in B.. You gotta be difficult don't you.. LOL.. Just kidding! So following the same pattern I can do this in any key and it will have all the correct sharps/flats if I follow this same pattern in the Key of A or any key for that matter? So basically I can just eliminate the begining parts of the Am pent. scale in the 4 positions an just use the bottom parts to scoot me down the neck?

  • @CRAIGARRR Yes! That's it. The whole system shifts in relation to position one . You can do a lot of soloing with just position one and the extended pattern but it's best to slowly learn all the positions.

  • @BrightonGuitarLesson With your excellent help Henry, I am learning position 4 now by heart.. Not only just the box shape but linier as well! I play the box but I also learn by heart each note of each string, and wont move on to the next position until I know both of them inside out, by heart. It is a long going process, going on total of 3.5 weeks now and have concentrated on accuracy instead of speed.Even at my fastest at playing boxes it sounds very "scaley", but there are no sour notes
