my church is doing an Event called feed my starving children.. we are packing i think its 190,000 meals and for each bag of meals we pack its 6 meals per packet.. seeing these starved kids makies me think more and more how this even is going to help.. if you have a feed my starving children warehouse near you... GO PACK MEALS.
When i was in china this beggar came up to me and stuck his mutilated arm without a hand right in my face and i felt so bad for him but i couldnt give him money there were lots of other beggars around they would trie to get money from me and i wouldnt have enough for all of them :(

So, yes, some people will never change, same with Americans, but not the majority.

I personally believe that the idea of sending them books is just about as helpful as dousing them in smallpox. What those people need is food and water, which is cheaper than sending them books (they can't even read, those tribesmen) Hell what we should teach them is how to farm, along with some food/water and they'd be on their ways.

You go out get yourself a university education like myself in an area that can make a difference like politics, social science or education. As a Muslim it is our duty to pay charity each year to the poor & more often during the year. If I was a Billionaire; I would donate 80% of my wealth to the poor around the World. Honestly, most of this is caused by the carelessness/stupidity of those who are in those situations. I only pity those who are born into conditions like that. I personally believe that the idea of sending them books is just about as helpful as dousing them in smallpox. What those people need is food and water, which is cheaper than sending them books (they can't even read, those tribesmen) Hell what we should teach them is how to farm, along with some food/water and they'd be on their ways.

You go out get yourself a university education like myself in an area that can make a difference like politics, social science or education. You use your knowledge learned to figure out a way to end poverty and do whatever it takes to complete that goal. Which is much better than "We can't"
