Ehhhh. This is better than most of Sega's attempts at 3D Sonic games, but it's still kind of terrible. It's nearly impossible to attack enemies successfully(without taking 1-2 hits first), the acceleration is way too quick, and turning is wonky. It's like trying to control a rocket with a lasso.
Is this a previous version of it or something? I have the latest version of it but the music in your game sounds different, and I've never seen Sonic being able to use homing attack or light dash.
See this is how sonic should be. There doesn't have to be any complex plot and they don't keep having to remake Sonic into what everyone thinks is cool nowadays
The gameplay in SRB2 isn't quite as smooth as I would hope, but that may be because of PC limitations, or the fact that they don't have the resources of a large design studio.
The design however, is brilliant, the levels capture the fun of the original 16bit era sonic.
I might try this on some other setup because the M+K setup works well for shooters but not for sonic.
In the times to come, SEGA will die off and I feel the rights to selling Sonic games should be passed on to this non-profit organisation of REAL game experts.
Also, from many places of the internet, I found out that work conditions in SEGA are actually horrendous.
SEGA - not caring one iota about its employees because it doesnt know that sales quality and customer satisfaction also lies with the employees.
The only thing I miss, is 3d models to the characters. Dr Robotnik kind of looked like a piece of paper in this 3d environment.
However, since this game uses the Doom Legacy engine, I'm not sure of the possibility of adding 3d models to this game. The original Doom could be modified with 3d models, as I recall.
Godamnit, with more work to correct the defaults, you'd have THE REAL 3D Sonic game! Hey SEGA stop paying these hacks who made shitty sonic games since the new millienum and hire these guys who made this!
sure, this game wasnt bad for a freeware, but if it were to be made as an official game from Sonic Team, it would have to be more realistic and complex with less faults for it to become successful.
Sonic Robo Blast II is cool, Shadow is my favorite character, I wonder why the guy missed out most of his best chaos moves like Chaos Blast and Chaos Control? no offense to Sonic Team Junior but Sonic's super form in this game was kinda lame since he wasnt invincible or able to fly.
How do you make SRB2 work?It just shows some errors and something missing.

Jitterskull 8 months ago
@Jitterskull I'm not sure about that but it's an individual game (doesn't require Doom).

Face it, SEGA clearly sucks as a company.
