I'm left wondering who should be cast as Makara when they eventually do a massive remake of this - someone you could love to hate, but secretly fancy and think "Aww, that's a waste" when they get smeared into the floor.
You can now the brand new Original Soundtrack (including the awesome Closing Theme Song) by original composer, Paul Bliss direct from the producer at starfleetsoundtrack(dot)com -- we'll have the full website up soon...
LOL, never saw the final episode as a kid (not that I ever really understood wtf was going on at 4yrs old) but I *certainly* never expected it to end with Makara getting punched into the floor by Dai X. LOLOLOL
It's this scene that made Star Fleet the best kid's show ever!
A giant robot punches it's way through a spaceship until it finds the commander officer, then punches her too! Awesome! It's a valuable lesson that most problems can be solved by punching.
Probably the best series of any series i ever watched in my life - it gripped me as a kid and it grips me now. The background music was always haunting and beautifuly composed.
Great stuff...this was thunderbirds for the 80's brought back some memories...glued to the tv every Sunday if I remember....bollocks I'll have to buy it DVD now!!
I watched this every week as a kid...but i couldn't remember the name was just watching a tribute to old cartoons and saw the name star fleet..yeah now I remember.
It's a shame Steve James passed away...he'd be PERFECT for Barry Hercules...I didn't know the name of this show until a very nice fan sent me an email. This is...amazing. thanx
Whoa, I remember watching this when I was a kid! Thanks for uploading it - I loved the show, Dia X was an incredible thing to see at my age and influenced me a great deal.
Not true. The Star Fleet theme was originally written and performed by Paul Bliss. Brian May's son was massively into Star Fleet, so Brian May got a few friends over for a jam session and the Star Fleet Project EP was the result. It featured three tracks: the title track, which was an extended version of the original theme; Let Me Out, a blues number in which Eddie Van Halen ended up torturing his top E string to the point of snapping (leaving him to finish on 5 strings); and Bluesbreaker.
For some reason, I've always liked Makara best; I was sad when she was killed off, the first time I saw this. I don't like the Imperial Master (dominant villain in the last few episodes) nearly as much!
Do you find that certain pop songs have permanent associations for you? Whenever I hear my fave Duran Duran song, Is There Something I Should Know?, I can think of nothing but Starfleet!
Yay, there are people like me here! I had such a crush on Makara! I haven't seen this in ages and I'm gonna have to scrape the sheckles together to get the dvd!
Although I am a big Gerry Anderson fan, after watching Star Fleet I could not take Terrahawks seriously at all. This was a superb series despite its age, and I am seriously considering getting the DVD box set... And I was always a little sad that Makara died - she was a fantastic character in looks, voice and attitude. And her death for a Saturday morning I always thought was suprisingly violent...
Come to think of it. I liked Makara and thought of her as kinda sweet and beautiful with that long red hair before she was transformed by the Alliance into the Commander. Too bad she had to get squished...lol...anyway, this is one of my favourite scenes in the series of titanic showdowns...the final fight of Lamia vs the Imperial Master was cool too...thanks for posting!
I liked Makara, despite the fact that she was a puppet she still flashed her midriff...I couldn't work out what that funny feeling I was getting was!! (Back then, not now!!)Ahhh, the innocence of being an 8 year old! lol
Tony3baps: I know what you mean. When I watched Star Fleet, I always wondered what Makara was like before the Alliance got hold of her. Maybe she was quite a sexy little minx in her time. It's something to think about, ain't it! Lol.
HA, HA,HA,HA,HA,HA!!! Seeing that Giant Robot smashing the hell out that queen's star cruiser from within is the funniest scene that I've ever witnessed! HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HA,HAH!!!!
whatever happened to captain orion or whatever she was called? I was 4 when i watched this first time round in the early 80's and cheered when makara died, still cheeed now, wot a bitch. is his made by us brits or was it japanese. in my opinion the best show of its kind ever made
Lol! Watching Caliban on crutches and in bandages is just so funny. And I swear I saw a packet of headache pills in his pocket too. What a cowardly fellow he was. He also had a funny accent that switched between Russian and Jamaican. Weird that. Anyway, Loved it!
This was PROPER BOY'S TV When TV was'nt afraid to take risks , Sadly TV is now run by women and gays, so shows like this will NEVER be made in the uk like this again!! If it had a phone vote, ant and dec , Graham norton and Cowell it WOULD GET MADE!

@KrillLiberator I reckon Miranda Richardson would be a good choice of actress for the awesome Makara.

The Stat Fleet sound track was written by Brain May originally as a mini album project.
together with Edward Van Halen, Phil Chen, Fred Mandel and Alan Gratze , i think Brain Mayvalso does the vocals himself.

Yes, I think Terrahawks is slightly better, because the zeroids are cuter than PPA, and it has even more good music, courtesy of Kate Kestrel.
