I've been wondering that for years. I think they wanted something more epic and Tenpei Sato didn't come up with an epic arrange for Great Wilder at the time. When they released the battle against Baal's Tyrant Overlord form as DLC, they ended up using the Makai Kingdom arrangement.

I can't beat Baal. He one-shotted my character for millions of damage. Defense seems to be near useless in this game, due to the skill system.

Even using Trick Move with a Super Dimensionman, he can land a hit if he gets behind you and attacks. I don't recall any first-appearance Baal being as strong as this one. :o

This is completely part of the game, so of course in the english version. What the english version doesn't have thus far is the entire Disgaea 2 cast plus the other cameos. We have to wait awhile before they're available for download.

No thats just one of his titles. No ones really ever seen his real form.

Hes also been called "The Supreme Overlord" by Adell and Rozalin. So its to asume he has many titles as well.

Anyways Baal is at his strongest in this game thats for sure in the Land of Carnage.

He has 3X the amount of health he had in the previous game. So even veteran Disgaea players will have a really difficult time with Baal this time around. But as always, someone will be able to defeat this version of Baal.

Also, his evility prevents him from being lifted, so you can't exactly prevent him from using his specials that way (Though I did hear of a unique way to defeat him utilizing the Rocs/Chickens evility to keep him from using his specials).

As Trenia put it "Baal is an aggregate of evil souls" in Makai Kingdom that probably was Baal's true from but its still possible it wasn't as she said he can appear anytime, anywhere. She also said if he loses a battle he just finds another body and takes it so that form we saw in Makai Kingdom might have not been his true form. Anyways Baal should be taken seriously as he is one hell of a boss in this game. In the Land of Carnage his stats approach 50 million and his HP is over 400 Million.

Baal's true form can be seen in Disgaea 2. Its basically the big prey statue demon form. At the least it was the form used in the Disgaea anime trailor (even though he was never in the actual anime).

as far as I know, Baal's TRUE form was revealed only once, in Makai Kingdom. It was a spawn of darkness, an agglomerate of souls that had to be reincarnated in different bodies as they got destroyed by strong warriors.

I only just started so my main character Mao is only level 35 atm, but I have the guide and it doesn't tell me anything about getting to level 9,999 like in my disgaea 2 book. What's some really good early leveling spots? I really want to get to level 9,999 to impress my friends. I don't know how to obtain these statisticians in this game. It's not like Disgaea 1 or 2 =(

I'm not that far either and if you're at lv 35, you really shouldn't be pulling off any power levelling so early. Just enjoy the game. However, if you really need to level up at this point 2-9 Grudgeful Memory and 4-3 Eternal Teardrop is a pretty decent place. Otherwise, just go through Item World.

Honestly, I just found the video. I wanted to post it because I knew everyone wanted to see the cameos and endings everything. I would've posted the source, but I guess I just forgot.

However, I can still give you some early levelling tips. If Mao is strong enough to kill most characters, then make use of skill linking. Regardless of how strong the chararcter your levelling up is, if Mao is strong enough to destroy the enemy, then both Mao and your character will gain full EXP and Mana.

You know how it took like 30-45 minutes to reach lv 9999 in Disgaea 2? In Disgaea 3, if you do it right, you can reach lv. 9999 in like 3-5 battles.

Well, I heard that unlike Disgaea 1, statisticians actually stack this time around, meaning that while the limit is still lv 300, you can have 12 lv 300 statisticians on your weapon and get the boost for ALL of them. You also still have the Land of Carnage and a House of Ordeals (similar to the CoO), and HoO4 is much more closer to Disgaea 1's DHM and CoO3, meaning you can take them out with one 3x3 skill. Add to that some EXP boosting clubs and evilities, and you got the easiest way to lv 9999.

The only drawback is that there aren't many 3x3 skills. The only weapon that has a 3x3 skill now is the fist's Big Bang. Slayer's Decent, the new Winged Slayer, has a new formation that makes it difficult to destroy all the HoO4 enemies in one hit. The other way to do a 3x3 is to use magic or any character that specifically has a 3x3 attack. However, the ability to duplicate items more than makes up for this.

They're not part of the core/story-based cameos on the Disgaea 3 disc (Prism Red, Asagi, Marona, Axel, Laharl, Etna, and Flonne). Instead, the battles against them are up for download, and you obtain them once defeating them. So far, the characters up for download are Adell, Rozalin, Hanako, Taro, the Nekomata class, and Kogure Souichirou from Hayarigami.
