I've seen plenty of gracious attitudes on both sides. John McCain made a wonder speech when he conceded the race, and Obama acknowledged him as a tough and worthy competitor. Then too, there are an enormous number of jerkasses on either side. So your supposed superiority depends on the individual, not the party. Again, well spoken. It's not entirely bitterness so much as foreboding for some like me. Every time I see a glowing pop culture display of Obama, the images of all cult of personality (I know I jump the gun when I say "dictators" here) "politicians" throughout history (Stalin, Saddam, Ceauşescu) who've all relied heavily upon positive imagery to maintain their power, harken back into my mind.
I did not like McCain. Few of us did, but I voted for him because the media WOULD scrutinize HIM.
