@dkupke I disagree. If a world of giant monsters were real...at least an attack by Godzilla or Gamera's enemies would leave less devastation than the tsunami. Early Godzilla was a horror to be sure. But the Tsunami killed multible thousands. Even Godzilla didn't get THAT far.
@SoleMan117 More accurately, you would MELT out of sheer exposure to Godzilla's radioactive output...No. Not as many would die from Godzilla's enemies. Nor would there be as much terrible OVERwhelming devastation. The effects will last for many, many years.
@Velocity9s So...melting is a safe alternative to drowning or being crushed?
Look, I guess you're assuming that Godzilla wasn't devastating because the Japanese rebuilt their cities sooo fast, but really, the faster they rebuild, the more that can die.
@SoleMan117 I refer to the death tole AND the destruction. Even over time(Lets be realistic & remember that there are 3 destinct Godzilla series, 'Millenium' being a group of unrelated mini-series. So this is NOT like its 'fifty years' worth of Monster attacks.), Godzilla & his enemies didn't cause as much long term damage & death as this tsunami. It covered most of Japan while Godzilla & company usually took a path & a city (maybe 2) got destroyed. Most of Japan was over run by the Tsunami.
Realisticly,(Sp?) they wouldn't rebuild as fast, and more people would die from the radiation of so many radioactive mutants. And if they rebuilt at the rate I'm describing, they would be even more damaged after further attacks over time. I guess ONE attack might be less devastating, which is realy what you were talking about. Still...I dunno...when you take into consideration Godzilla only attacked one city...grrr....
@SoleMan117 Yes, but not ALL of Godzilla's foes R radioactive(I prefer to remain in the Hesie Era{2nd series} but the same goes for the Showa Era). A few have a radioactive connection to G' only as it is a cataliset for thier creation. Hesie Rodan comes closest. Biolante is VERY closely related Radioactivity-wise, but the movie never claimes Bio' emmits radioactive hazards(I think). Nor is the Son on G' radioactively dangerous(implied at least by the scene where children(!!!) are allowed close
@Velocity9s What about King Ghidorah? He was created in the same way Godzilla was, so its logical to assume he could emit some energy...
but look, I don't care. If you want to believe that one tsunami could kill and destroy more than a horde of giant, fire-breathing monsters could, then be my guest. One day you'll realize that it's all just guys in rubbber suits with strings and timed explosions, and that the greatest bad-asses of all time were made by guys who were overly sensitve and emtional
Yes, Wide-Screen rules. I'm getting SO tired of seeing the two noses of cabbies(Young Peter Falk/later Columbo & Rosco from Jack Benny) asking whats going on to a third character who stands center stage between them at Santa Rosita Beach in the classic comedy 'Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World!'. Some early Gamera films show our hero looking across to the opposite side of your TV screen and You DON'T get to see the villain's immediate responce. NOT Better then wide-screen.
@YungReg88 dude, the opposite is true. widescreen is the ORIGINAL format, which shows ALL of the original picture. when they 'fit' the widescreen to your lame 3x4 TV screen, they have to CHOP OFF 1/6th of the frame on both sides = 1/3rd of the entire picture is CHOPPED OFF. so widescreen = MORE picture. it's basic geometry. see?
thanks for the bond music... lmao

That is at least one thing the Japanese have going for them right now: at least they got hit by a tsunami and not one of these guys

@Velocity9s um...yeah, they did, partly because some of them came back for multiple attacks.
Still, it would offer an oppertunity to be saved by Godzilla...and if I ever had that honor bestowed on me, I would explode out of sheer happiness.

Wide screen format sucks because it cuts away half of the picture.

The only thing that could make this video rock more would be to see Chris Cornell riding Gamera while he's singing this tune...!! \m/ XD \m/
