Actually the controversy was that they didn't have pictures of them actually drinking, the red cups thing came out of the fact that all they had in the pictures were red cups, they were just able to make the assumption that they were drinking because they were at a party where they knew drinking was going on. they definitely shouldn't have been suspended, and the pictures were sent in by a cheerleader for LT so they could beat us at our homecoming like we beat them at theirs. it was stupid.
sorry but those kids deserved a lot more than a suspension. When I played sports for York they would have immediately cut us from the team if they had proof we were boozin.
There was a "scandal" when multiple football players were suspended after pictures were sent in of them drinking. Multiple rumors spread, including one that had the administration responsible. The red cups being thrown was a rebellion if you will against the administrations punishment toward these players during homecoming week.
