Actually, Mastodon has a very British Distortion sound. You should be able to get that with your amp. If anything just get a ibanez TS9 tubescreamer and boost the OD channel . Itll give you a little bit more gain and keep it tight.

Sorry guys about all the complaining about the sound and tone. I think I figured it out. I am new to all this big equipment and finding the right sound. I currently have a marshall 4x12 cab and a Crate Blue Voodoo head. I would use the heads distortion but it is the most pussy distortion ever so with due time I will find a better head or a better distortion pedal. I will posting more videos coming up soon.
