.......opening scene is a little bit OVER THE TOP for astoriuuh,esp throwing garbage and mouthin of to adults WHO are just as uninhibited and would make sure your family got wind of why your face was broken---same for the prostitots/skanks--etc-///-fro­m nyc hells kitchen ---to---astoriuuh hoyt ave 1979--movie is real but i never remember local girls running around that way-or morons tossing garbage off the roof---they would've been roofed next by a pissed off individual,super or landlord-

@dhimmicarter Agreed, it was a bit over the top. I grew up in Astoria at the same time this movie took place. Adults wouldn't take shit from the kids like that back then. Some winos and crack heads would catch some shit, but store owners would definitely have something to say to a crew like this. Great movie though, and at least they didn't try to pass Astoria off as a shit neighborhood.

Disturbia is a suspense movie with some comedy thrown into it. If you like that, rent that.

AGTRYS is much more gritty, and it isn't as centric to Shia as Disturbia is. It's very real, and the acting is amazing from every cast member.

It's really Suspense vs. Drama.
