  • The C is not bad, it's on pitch, it vibrates, she's just afraid of it and rushes through...

  • Oh that high C!!!! You can feel and see her worrying about it. Not bad in the end. The last note went a bit sour though. Her flaws were exacerbated as the voice got heavier.

  • Eva Morton is one of my Favorite Sopranos but this performance was not moving to me. Listening to her sing the opera Turandot is magical, not this.

  • it's not perhaps a memorable O patria mia, but it's still better than most of what i'm hearing out there now. while true that verdi wasn't her forte, especially later on as the voice got heavier and less wieldy, there is at least one beautifully sung recording of her Leonora (Forza) from the 70's.

  • memorable is ponselle, milanov, and tebaldi

  • @erin129 I have a LIVE Forza from 1982 from Barcelona that is spectacular. The Forza Leonora seemed to always be good in her voice. She's partnered in this performance by Guisseppe Giacomini. It's truly exciting!!!

  • She is great at Puccini and Wagner, but I have never heard a good Verdi from her. Verdi needs more resistence and slancio, but the rarity of this video is the location
