The blood of Jesus, both sanctifies us, and saves us. Jesus’ blood sets us apart from our sins and God’s wrath for them, and it also, saves us from having to experience God’s wrath for them.
Since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God’s condemnation for them. Romans 5:9
We have been sanctified (set apart from our sins, and God’s wrath for them), through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 10:10
@CHRISTIANTEACHINGS do not be deceived. nothing can save you, including "blood" or how "good" work you do, etc etc. what Christ did for us, including the shed blood, the pain He went through, the suffering etc., etc., sanctified us, but it's not about salvation. the salvation is THE gift from God, meaning it's from God, nothing else.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
@ThickShadescom I believe that Christian salvation is a form of sanctification, which can set us apart from our sins, which bring God’s wrath upon them.
I believe that Christian salvation is about choosing to believe that Jesus shed His blood, and died upon a cross, to sanctify us, and to save us, from our sins.
@ThickShadescom -Yes but you can't be saved unless you believe in the Blood Atonement, that is the requirement of salvation, that Christ's shed blood (God's Blood) paid the price for your sins. 'Without the shedding of blood there is no remission'(Heb.9:22). The payment of sins meant that Christ had to shed his own blood for us and die in our place on the Cross. It is not His life that saves us, but His death on the Cross.
@edwardpf123 bingo. we are saved and we are declared holy before God. Christ saves us and the blood sanctifies us. the two go together, but they are different. i was pointing out the heresy of AmW about someone being "saved," via "blood."
@edwardpf123 exactly. salvation and sanctification are different but intertwined, yet it's never the way to salvation, but rather for us being able to have the boldness, the confidence to enter into the Kingdom of God, being declared holy via the shed blood of Jesus Christ. "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus," (Hebrews 10:19)
@ThickShadescom -Are you talking about infant salvation? Then you are automatically covered by the Blood since you never had a chance to reject the Gospel.
Repentance is part of the Gospel, since it is a change of mind and one has to change your mind about who you are and who Christ is. So, by believing in Christ you have 'repented', you have turned from self to Christ. What Repentence isn't is repentence of sins, since you are incapable of knowing all your sins.
Ephesians 1:7 & 2:13 clearly says that there is forgiveness of sins in the blood. The blood also brings us nigh unto God.
Could the OT high priest intercede for the nation without blood on the mercy seat in the Holy of Holies? How much more important is the blood of Jesus Christ in Heaven today?
“Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” Romans 3:25.
The word “propitiation” in the Greek means “to appease one’s wrath.” It is our faith in the shed blood of Christ that removes us from under the condemnation of God’s Law.
@ThickShadescom I full well know the gospel ThickShadescom. It does bother me when someone I call brother waters down the importance of the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus saves those who believe on His name. But Jesus Christ still had to do the redemptive work at Calvary to redeem us. He had to take his blood into the mercy seat in Heaven so he could be our High Priest now. The OT priests were in the order of Aaron, temporary standins until Jesus Christ, the order of Melchizedek came.
@ThickShadescom That is the simplicity of the gospel. Jesus saves us through simple faith in Him BECAUSE of the saving work he did for us. One doesn't have to understand every aspect of how it works, just believe that it does. But to go on and say that His blood doesn't save us is theologically erroneous.
@MLove4Christ Do you have ANY idea how LONG it took me to get why you would call it a racist commet? Silly me I dont pick up on those details very easily. :-p

@ThickShadescom What does the word sanctify mean to you?
The word sanctify to me means to be set apart from something by God.
The word salvation to me, means to be set apart from something harmful to us.

@CHRISTIANTEACHINGS sanctify means being declared holy. salvation means eternal life.

@ThickShadescom -Salvation is one of the 3 parts of sanctificatin, positional sanctification, in which you are put into union with Christ.
Progressive sanctification is the Christian walk in which you grow in grace and develop a relationship with Chirst.
Ultimate sanctification is when you receive your resurrection body and are completly pure, body, soul and spirit.

I would like you to clarify your position on the blood of Jesus if you could please.

@savedbyjesusblood the Blood is for the sanctification, not a ticket to the Kingdom of Heaven. please read Hebrews 10 for more details.
