"Rosie" itself was written in the 80s, but it was intended to be on New Jersey. Well it was scrapped, and I think Richie recorded this version then, and decided to use it on his album Stranger In This Town. And this is also explained since Jon has a recording of this with him singing, which would point that it would be the band's song, not just Richie. Also, Jon cowrote it. At least, that's the story I heard.
@MARIOFREAK821 O.K., the actual story I heard is close to this. I believe Richie did record it for the New Jersey album, but the version was a little different, cause I have heard a couple different versions of Richie singin this song. So, I think the one you posted here is actually the second recording he did specifically for his solo album. They originally did a different recording for the other album that sounded a little less heavy and slower.
the original demo was sung by Jon

I must say that I don't really like their solo songs, but this and Blaze of Glory is their only good solo songs... xD

And if it makes anyone feel any better, I renamed the title to "Richie Sambora w/ Bon Jovi - Rosie". :)

Yes, it is. Richie also released this song on his solo album Stranger In This Town, even though it was written in the New Jersey era. ;)
