I came into this world looking like cherokee even though I am only 1/16, I inheried retinal dystrophy from that part of my heritage. I am proud to be cherokee, I know i am long lost sister to the tribe. I would be a healer, as I inherited many gifts from them. :)
I have a small amount of Cherokee blood in me. Cherokee blood non the less though. My spirit has always flown with the winds, & my blood flowing like the rivers. Apart of her I am. Even though my surroundings are not the same. (It's blood is the waters, its veins are the rivers, its surroundings are not the same I.E - space.)
i remember when i first listened to this when i was 3 with my great-grandmother who is both Cherokee and Catawba. she used to make sure i always knew about my native American background. RIP granny
I wish I was 100%... I love my ancestors and people... Noone makes me prouder than my native american ancestors who know how to love the Earth, the Great Spirit and maintain stewardship of our lands...

This song sounds like home, but where do I live? I'm sure only God knows, something in the dreamcatcher.... I will quilt until I stop, til I find home, it sounds like this, it sounds like this song.
I am Irish, German, and "Indian" on my father's side, and English, Dutch, French-Canadian (Quebequois), Scotch, Irish, Norwegian, and 2 parts of northern American Indian on my mother's side. Regardless of my ancestor's ancestry, I Am American, and I am very proud to have both European as well as Native blood running through my veins. Long live the Natives. Long live the Euroes. Long live the Americans, in peace, prosperity, and love. <3 Long long myself, and you, my brother.
I am 1/8, and am applying to the tribe via oral history. Unfortunately, my ancestors had already gone to KY before the final rolls, but I will try anyhow. Love my Cherokee ancestors and cousins!
Beautiful! I'm part Cherokee too, but a small fraction. Before I knew it though, my instinctual beliefs were always closely aligned with Native American beliefs. All is sacred. This song is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. <3
Thank you for sharing this song. I am half Cherokee,Kiowa, & Osage. I have a 1 yr old son and he loves this song, it put him right to sleep. Native Pride!
thank you for this. my dad was 1/2 or 3/4 cherokee and grew up in the 50's. he was picked on as a child for being a half-breed, so he was never very proud of his heritage. now he's gone and i don't know much about this part of my history. my grand mother was cherokee and my grandfather was part. so this gives me a small hint of what my ancestors did. they were eastern band, and that is all i really know. thank you for this.

Can you explain retinal dystrophy? Is this the same as "congenital cataracts"? I was born with bad sight too... Is this a geneological attribute?

If you are indian then just say you are indian.
I've always found the comments of being an 'eighth indian', or a 'quarter indian', and such, very silly.
Sorry if I offend anyone with this comment. Don't mean to.
Beautiful music. I enjoyed listening to it.
Peace...

what it means is, my grandpa was full blooded cherokee, but if someone is less than 1/16 cherokee, they wont be recognized in the tribe
JayChouKaijuMaster 2 years ago
is, he is still alive. I am definatly at least 3/4, but its just a way of knowing what you are to the cherokee
JayChouKaijuMaster 2 years ago
Well I may be recognized by the tribe then seeing as I AM 1/16th Cherokee. And I'm proud 2 be Cherokee.
