i wonder? i knew a trolly driver for yrs and yrs he was our neihbour his name was Bill. He used to drive the #5 most of the time! and when we would get to Westmount he would always get off and light his cigar! i think he must have retired early 90's wonder how hes doing!
I am not from Canada but am stunned that Canada would even consider such a move. Canada from what I understand is far more environmentally preservative and respectful than down here in the USA when we eliminated trolleys decades ago for diesel buses and cars.
Eliminating Trolleys is the worst trajedy that can happen to Edmonton. They are non polluting. Who is running your city and province, cheapo pc conservetives. They are transit assasins. They ruined Toronto and Hamiltons trolley Systems. All of the remaining 30 should be preserved for the historic collection. They could be used around the hollidays for service increases. Those other 10 should be rebuilt plus new trolley bought with them runned on 4 additional lines. Start a petetion to save them
Lots of others. Confirmed ones that have been scrapped include those three, plus 130, 139, 156, 164, 177, 186, 195. Several more were brought directrly from the warehouse where the extra trolley were stored to Westwood and scrapped in less than a day. There's only going to be about 30 trolleys left in service this fall, plus a few preserved for the historic collection. Ones confirmed in service so far are 121, 126, 135, 140, 150, 160 and 161.

will there ever be a way to save the trolley buses before they are gone?

Write to city council, and tell them what you think about this decision, and let them know eliminating trolleys is unacceptable.

I notice that ETS has scraped some trolleys already 146, 149, 163. Did they scraped any others?
