  • Rue!!! They picked the PERFECT quote that completely personifies the fabulousness that is Blanche Devereaux:

"I know! Let's rent an adult video, drink mimosas and french kiss the pillaws!" Fan-freaking-tastic.

  • @FJNDCC you uploaded this on my birthday:)

  • They should have added a clip from King of the Hill as well for Brittany Murphy. Yes, it was just a cartoon, but she was so hilarious as Luanne and i will remember her forever for that role. This was a very good In Memorial. The ones at the Emmys are usually way better than the ones at the Academy Awards.

  • Rue McClanahan!

  • did anyone watch the 63rd primetime emmy awards? did they do I memoriam?

  • Not to be a dick but why is the fisherman captain on there? He didn't really do anything.

  • R.I.P. Roy Disney :'(

  • Y was Jimmy Sullivan not in this?! :(

  • @foREVerintheMCRmy the emmys only remember people who did work in tv or film, i think.

  • @holliegrr Awww, well that's a rip off :/

  • So moving X

  • I thought I was gonna bawl when I saw the pictures of John Forsythe Dixie Carter Patricia Neal & Lynn Redgrave all of whom I've loved since I was a little girl. but Ms Neal & Ms Redgrave's deaths hit me the hardest in 2010 specifically Redgrave's because my own mother is a breast cancer survivor

  • Rue McLanahan - we miss you very much. You are every Day my Golden Girl... ♥

  • No zelda rubinstein?

  • Corey Haim <3 I love you

  • Oh my God, there's a lot of great people passed away last year??

  • I didn't know that Peter Graves was dead! He was great on 7th Heaven. He might have only been in 11 episodes but I'll always remember him as John Camden "The Colonel".

I was also surprised to see Merlin Olsen.

Rue McClanahan was the hardest one to see up there. I grew up watching Golden Girls. It's hard to believe there's only 1 Golden Girl left.

  • So the Emmys could put in Corey Haim but the Oscars couldn't?

  • @Anynom Since when he did anything oscar worthy? Emmy maybe, but Oscar, please..

  • I swear if there is ever a dislike on this video im going become a killer

  • Isnt this crowd dead...... =.=

  • During clip people shouldn't clap, just after it ends.

  • COREY HAIM! BRITTANY MURPHY!!! =(

  • Interesting who got included although I didn't care at all for the song.

  • More at 3:04

  • Starts at 0:52

  • I liked 2009 better with Sarah McLachlan's rendtion, I Will Remember You.

  • So sad that Tom Bosley will be in that next year

  • We lost a wealth of talent this past year. Many well-known, and even not so well-known people were lost to us this year. May everyone of them rest in peace.

  • Great memorian. Those clappers can go suck a dick.

  • Oh my god I wrote this song "for someone for passed away from Cancer" listen love - so would I if i'd listened to this sort of drivel.

  • WHAT COREY HAIM DIED?????? OMG THIS IS SO SAD.

  • beautiful song...

  • John Forsythe was a handsome man but he was a very stiff actor. Bland as dry toast.

  • Standing Ovation!

  • I think it was beautiful

  • What a sad song. Beautiful, but sad...

  • Seems like the Emmys do a much better job doing a tribute then the AcaDUMBy Awards (except for the music though)

  • @ TheDauphin101: The song is called "The shape of you" but you can also find it with the title "Hole in my heart"

  • I think it's an amazing song. She wrote it for her lost loved one, not for the people featured..so to say that the song isn't "the best" as someone mentioned is somewhat unfair. It's no chart topper, but if you find that the music featured on those charts is appealing to you..then your opinion of good music is in poor taste.

  • Beautiful song for those lost in 2010. We lost so many wonderful people once again.

Safe passage Captain Phil Harris, Deadliest Catch and the Bering Sea just won't be the same without you!

  • Song sucks.

  • @dovestones ...and here is the one jerkoff.

  • @davykrump29 Just because it was written for emotional reasons and played in an emotional moment doesnt mean it is actually a good song.

    Sorry.

  • @dovestones Well yeah, it's kind of boring, but why be mean about it?

  • @dovestones I agree that it is not the best song but I think there are better ways of saying it than "Song sucks," which leaves you open for people to think you are being insensitive. I think your second message to davykrump29 used better language. Better to be specific with what you mean next time.

  • Gonna miss seeing you on Deadliest Catch next season, Phil. What a man.

  • Glad to see Captain Phil in there

  • @bigcack48 It really warmed my heart to no end to see Captain Phil in there.

  • OMG did Dennis Hopper die? I feel so stupid for not knowing.

  • @foccha And "The Industry" had only just honored him with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Tasteless, really, as he deserved it a long time ago.

  • RIP Captain Phil you were the real jewel among all the other actors

  • i love this song so much

  • It's a shame that some of u can come on this site and can b ugly, and b4 some of u get upset, I'm just saying it's a memorial for those who we've seen or heard about in entertainment, I mean it is the emmys, why r u watching, would u like someone disrespecting the memorial service of one of ur loved ones,,no..wow i cant believe how ,2morrow being sept 11th, this is how we act,,there are many other sites u can call eachother names on if u cant say something nice dont say anything, God Bless u All

  • @jetergirl149 I co-sign with you, these idiots don't know how to act, especially when it comes to award show memorials.

  • i love this song!!

  • R.I.P. Corey Haim.

Corey's death made me cry. I loved him in the Lost boys.

Gary's was a shock and so was Brittany Murphys..=(

    I loved Pernall in Bonanza.

  • RIP Pernell Roberts. I actually watched this clip to see if he was included. So many of the older actors are a lot of times forgotten. Glad to see him on there, as well as several others.

  • I love you brittany.. so strong, beautiful and amazing. I hope one day I will be as wonderful and inspirational as you.

  • when i saw captain phil, i almost broke...

  • Brittany you will always be remembered for that sweet smile of yours, so young, so many experiencies unlived, we wont forget you!

  • Woo Jewel!! She's so unbelievably talented.

  • This song hits close to home, you see I have cancer. Ever 6 mths I go to "Camp Bluebird" in Mobile, Al A camp for adults living and fighting cancer everyday. Everytime we leave, we never know who we might have said our last "Goodbye" to. We have what we call a "Circle of Prayer" for those who have pasted away just in the 6 mths since we last met. If anyone knows the name & where I can get a copy of the song please let me know. I would love to share it during this time.

  • @TheDauphin101 I heard her doing an interview before the show. It sounds like the song is a new song, not yet released. Good Luck to you, and God Bless.

  • @TheDauphin101 I will pray for you and your friends during this difficult time.

  • @TheDauphin101 it's called 'shape of you' i tried to find it on itunes for you with no luck.

    it's beautiful!

i hope you're getting healthier as days fly by ;)

  • @TheDauphin101 Just go to Keepvid.com and download the video link then download Winff and from there you can rip the audio off the file.

I still think it's cool that they acknowledged Lena Horne's guesting on Sesame Street! Next year, they should put Nanny (Barbara Billingsley) from the Muppet Babies cartoon in the 2011 memorial. Even if they just put a clip of her from Leave It To Beaver it's better than not putting her there at all.

  • @TheDauphin101 My understanding is, she never recorded that song... (I think it is called Hole in My Heart tho!

  • @TheDauphin101

Download it from youtube with Free Youtube Downloader and share it with your friends. The memoriam from 2011 is also quite lovely. Continue getting better and better every day.

  • some damn great names there damn great

  • @2007Ballroom i love her too and sophia...traveled the world and dwn again, urheart is tru ur a pal and aconfidant, and if u thru a party invited everyone u knew u would be

  • there's a whole in my heart,i carry wherever i go,and it's in da shape of u..cashape use just like window to heaven theres a light shining thru this hole and its in da of myheart, but its in da shape of u

  • there's a whole in my heart,i carry wherever i go,and it's in da shape of u..cause just like window to heaven theres a light shining thru this hole and its in da shape of myheart, but its in da shape of u

  • there's a hole in my heart, in the shape of u.just like a window to heaven.there's a light shining thru the window thru this hole in my heart,in da shapre of u

  • Arnold Stang, Harold Dow and Lady from Tv's Survivor is missing

  • @MrDwind2003 1st of all don't insult arnold!!..say wat u want about gary coleman..he was arnold drummond...adopted by whats his name Baines, and strung out dana plato, and sellout todd bridges, dont make me go there cause i know all the nannies, and the spinoff facts of life w/mrs Garret, ok so chk ur self

  • @jetergirl149 Arnold Stang was a character actor and voice actor. MrDwind2003 is not referring to Gary Coleman's character Arnold.

  • I love John Forsythe and never I 'll forget Blake Carrington. Thanks for this clip.

  • I think it's very tacky for people to only clap for the "known" stars either you clap for everyone or don't clap at all.

  • @j05baker but why do u give a shit,look who's clappin,we make those mo'fo's

  • @j05baker Agreed. They ignore the producers, directors or lesser known stars.

Kind of like when Farrah died they dint care it was all about MJ...=(

  • @j05baker

    I agree with you.

  • @j05baker People clap based on their emotional response to the dedication. The more familiar they are with the artist the more they will clap. The more known the artist is the more people will clap. Clapping for everyone the same makes it redundant and meaningless.

  • @j05baker Agreed. It's rude.

  • @LightsSparkle I never said it wasn't popular & didn't mean to offend anyone. I just didn't know who the guy was. I'm sure it was a good show.

  • I am not a particular fan of this artist, but this song is very touching

  • Sausage king Jimmy Dean died too???? WOW!

  • Jewel's career died after this horrible song.

  • @worldlemon3 ......Well, different strokes for different folks....I bought this song as soon as I heard it on itunes....I happen to love it, touching and heartfelt......I will agree to disagree with you on this one.

  • @worldlemon3 You mad cuz when you die, nobody won't write a song for your sorry ignorant ass, she wrote it for a friend who died from cancer so STFU and have a heart you prick!

  • May God bless all these wonderful people we lost this year. BUT esp. Andrew Koenig, my dear friend... May they be a PEACE in the arms of God's Heavenly Angels...

  • the only real reason to WATCH AWARD CERMONIES THESE DAYS !!

  • Damn. I forgot Lena Horne died....

    R.I.P....Gary Coleman....and all the rest...

  • They forgot Justin Mentell

  • I'm a huge fan of Brittany Murphy and Corey Haim, seeing those two broke my heart. I almost started crying! Pernell Roberts and Rue McClanahan were on two of my fav shows: Bonanza and Golden Girls (thank god for hallmark channel and TV land). RIP to all of them

  • I would have enjoyed this better if it had been more about the people that have passed on and less about Jewel and her song.

  • @robinpoppy Don't think it was about Jewel. It was about personalizing the moment with a song that means something. They took the time to put everything together to blend the song and the persons being shown. I didn't see Jewel up there selling a CD or anything, just singing a song that means a lot to her for people that have lost those important to them.

  • @Lokid20

Well said! This was so moving; I cried watching it. It's a beautiful song and I wish she would record it in the studio. Amazing performance and touching tribute to those who are gone.

  • God bless them all, Dennis Hopper, Captain Phil god bless your family and i still cry when i see or think of you... You didnt deserve to go so early...

  • Ahh... that was a sweet clip of Rue, she was a legend!

  • And let's not forget Lynn Redgrave (our very own Maid Marian on The Muppet Show) and Jimmy Dean who launched Rowlf to international stardom on his show. It was the first time the Muppets were recognized to a much broader audience and not just locally like Sam And Friends.

  • at 3:20 I can't believe that they had to chose, among all those clips of Lena Horne out there, her duet with Grover on Sesame Street! They should of had the clip of her on the Muppet Show but the Emmy people must have thought that song was much cuter.

  • corey haim and brittany murphy were the real tragic stories in this list.so young too.

  • What a beautiful song We lost so many of them this year, not just actors and actresses but in overall entertainment. I remember when we lost Rue, it was so sad because we had just loss Gary Coleman and Art Linkletter the previous week.We also loss Ali Ollie Woodson and singer with the temptations ( I know he's not an actor ) that monday and then we lost Rue two days later and then we lost Dennis a short time after that.Personally I lost my grandma in April, it has just been an overall sad year.

  • Pity they put Fred Savages Photo in place of Corey Haim!!!

  • @TheSteebs do u not know the difference between fred savage and corey haim it was a young corey haim fred savage isnt in there

  • @TheSteebs what?

  • That cool that they included Captain Phil....RIP..

  • this is the most beautiful song ever!

  • Thank you Emmy Awards for adding Captain Phil.

  • I'm so glad they included dear Pernell Roberts, but so sad that he's gone!

  • i thought it was a great song and so appropriate...beautiful job Jewel!

  • @LightsSparkle No, I just can't afford cable!

  • It's a shame that they didn't show the role Brittney Murphy did on King of the Hill but the fact that they showed her on there is good enough for me. I remember hearing from the news on alot of those people that passed away *a few like the guy that played Davy Crookett, I heard from my folks* though I was surprised to see Roy Disney *Walt Disney's nephew & the last member of the Disney family to still be actively involved with the company* on there cause I had no idea he passed away. R.I.P. Roy.

  • @cremefthereich WTH? Are you talking about? Jewel is very talented |:

  • RIP PHILL HARRIS

  • @cremeofthereich stupid f**k.. what r u? an alien? she's the most talented female singer in music industry... get a clue..

  • @reysyaf Eat shit dope. You obviously wouldn't be in any position to judge. I hope she squirts some of her ass juice in your face one day.

  • @cremeofthereich you disgusting, i bet you eat shit everyday for the rest of your pathetic life... bye

  • @reysyaf When did you stop eating the turds from that bitch's ass? You wouldn't even know a talented shitter if you smelled me. Here, have some of my turds, all liquidy and perfectly stanky, the old type!! Plenty for your friends too!!

  • @cremeofthereich no thanks.. just keep it for you and for your family too.. I don't eat that...

  • @reysyaf When did you stop?

  • @cremeofthereich since the time I saw you ate cows turd like a hungry bitch and after that you lick their balls until they cum on your face... LOL

  • @reysyaf YOU HAVE JUST ADMITTED HERE FOR ALL THE YT WORLD TO SEE THAT YOU ACTUALLY "STOPPED" EATING TURDS, WHICH MEANS YOU ONCE DID. UNBELIEVABLE. PLEASE MOVE ALONG NOW, YOU MUST BE SO DISEASED MY SITE MIGHT BECOME INFECTED. WHAT A LOSER. PROVEN. END OF STORY.

  • @cremeofthereich whatever dude, just GROW UP

  • @reysyaf Thank you for finally conceeding that you opened your trap unwisely and got the creme's iron fist rammed down it.

  • I miss you Robert Culp.

  • I didn't realize how many celebrities died this year, I believe the song fit well, whether you like jewels voice or not. all of them will be missed.

  • The only reason I bothered to watch this video (muted, because Jewel makes my ears bleed) was because I wanted to see if they would acknowledge Luanne from King of the Hill during Brittany Murphy's part. Of course, they completely ignored the fact that she voiced her for 13 seasons, just like the rest of the media has been since her death. That was really her one substantial TV role and it should have been recognized.

  • @redhed311

I came here for the very same reason. While I'm glad she was remembered at both the Emmys and Oscars this past year (unlike several more popular celebs), the fact her best-known role is so unknown in the mainstream says more about King of the Hill than it does Brittany.

Regardless, she was a beautiful and highly talented actress who just left us too soon. :*(

  • John Forsythe I never forget you. RIP. Thank you for the clip.

  • John Forsythe I never forget you. RIP. Thank you for the clip

  • I wish they would hold off on the clapping till the end. That is depressing...

I cannot stand Jewel and her music. I love her blogs, but ick.

  • So we've got Estelle Getty in the 2008 memoriam, Bea Arthur in the 2009 memoriam, and Rue Mcclanahan in the 2010 memoriam. Lets hope we don't have Betty White in the 2011 memoriam.

  • @loveyou9512 I hope you are KNOCKING ON WOOD, hush your mouth! That would be a a huge loss....

  • @loveyou9512 She's the oldest and she's outlived them all. I don't think we'll lose her any time soon.

  • John Forsythe rest in peace! :o(

  • I'm Glad Dorothy DeBorba was included. :') <3

  • Soupy and Fess Parker. Loved them when I was growing up.

  • RIP Phil, only just found out. :(

I respected him because he was a nice father, who took care of his kids. Having not been blessed with a father, that, I would not piss on if he was on fire - I liked seeing his interactions with his kids.

    RIP.

  • i was disappointed in the lack of applause this year, i always consider the "in memorium" to be a "final curtain call" of sorts. It didn't seem as loud, and some people didn't get any applause at all.

  • @Wozniak13. If the music were purely instrumental, there would have been more applause. But since there was a live singer, it's rude to applaud too loudly and drown her out.

  • @Wozniak13 They were better last year. They clapped more.

  • @Wozniak13 I think it's because it was one of those silent remembrances. When someone has a voice as haunting as Jewel, along with the somberness of the song, it places people into silent memory.

  • what is da name of the song

  • Rip peter graves

  • Captain Phil was in there, just not long enough. Leave it to NBC to miss spotlighting a rare personality like Phil Harris. He was a real person. What you saw on TV was HIM, not an actor. The rest of these people, as memorable as they are, were only acting. Phil wasn't. His personality was more genuine than the characters these actor portrayed. Godspeed Captain!

  • @USSLexington1709 What does that have to do with anything? Real vs Character, the whole point of acting is to become a character so that people forget they are watching an act. I don't understand your logic of real versus fake in this instance.

  • @USSLexington1709. They gave him screen time during the Reality TV montage as well.

  • Rip Phil you will be missed by so many Godspeed and stay on those crab.

  • 2:14 .... :) ...... :'(

    2:37

  • I believe that would have set Phil back on his Heels sure enough.

    Stay on the crab Captian.

  • Wow so many great talents now walking the streets of gold! RIP: Roy, Rue, and Cap'n Phil.

  • Phil:(

  • @javajen19 One of the Captains from Deadliest Catch.

  • @ControversialMatt Oh, not familiar with that show. Apparently it's a popular one!

  • phil was the man

  • i think its really cool that they realized how many people phil touched whether they actually new him personally or not

  • PHILLY!

  • Wow 34 people some i knew had passed away but some I didn`t until now..

  • The song and then seeing Capt. Phil was tearful...

  • we always lose some great people, but i'm sooooo glad the emmy's realized how much capt Phil was a huge part of so many lives.....we all so feel a part of that family that it was good to see them realize that.....way to go, rip capt Phil....love ya, the boys, the crew, the rest of the fleet n families may the upcoming season be better for all

  • RIP...Captain Phil Harris

  • Aww there's Capt. Phil Harris. :)
