  • do they have these in america?

  • They are brilliant but they are just to big to carry if you're a backpacker. Wish they could make one which was easier to carry.

  • i just bought 1 a regatta pop up tent 2 man for£25 not bad i have it on my balcony set up

as my friends kids like playing in it.

  • and dragon ball has begun .... only need it in capsule form now

  • Serria Designs has dry pitch kits. One can put up the poles and rainfly first then install the inner tent underneath in the rain. The bora 80 backpack also has wet gear bag on the outside of the pack so when your backpacking in the raining season..your READY for anything your wet gear is protected but allowed to drain while your backpacking. It's a good feature when it's wet outside. One tent is the Electron. It comes in 3 sizes and it is rock solid.

  • People need to stop crying about the design it's great and it beat's the other tents. A blind man can do it.

  • set up the tent and spikes in 22 seconds................... beats my record of 34 minutes

  • Some Comments;

100% true its great when its raining and windy to set up

Great for Car Camping/Base camping where no hiking is involved

Even with the 2 skin versions condensation does leak into tents in the morning after long, rain and windy weather

Is heavy in terms of weight and it being a very large circular package, forget about using it when hiking somewhere long distance, its a bitch to carry.

latest version have 2 skins./layers so waterproofing issues are gone but an increase in weight

  • hahaha a pop-up tent would make pitching a tent alot easier :P haha man im so immature

  • Nice vid =D

  • where can find one them tents

    in the usa

  • ye but i bet it takes 3 weeks to get it back in the bag ha ha

  • its a shame they dont fold more than that. no way you could lug that big disk on a backpack.

  • Shame about the packaged shape, not very convenient for backpacking.

  • i gotta reggata pop up tent and its good value ... For £49.99 you get a tent with 2 foldable camping chairs 2 sleeping mats and 2 sleeping bags... You can get this from argos.co.uk

  • the only disadvantage with this tent is the shape of it once it's packed. I find the large circle is quite impracticle to carry over long distances.

other than this these tents are very handy! Very good for festivals or putting up in the rain!! :D

  • copied from decathlon.... lame!

  • how do you put it back together?

  • @5ubarusvx, you lift and hold the loops together, then lift to its side and fold top loops into bottom loops which takes about 15 seconds when you have done a few times.

  • nice! i want one like this

  • this tent blows!

  • nice tent. I've got to buy one like this.

  • Folding them back up is a nightmare, one easily breaks the struts trying to get them folded back in to the same size they were shipped in.

  • PupUp-Tents are cool. I have a Quechua 2 Seconds II, a really nice tent! Perfect for festivals!

  • i just bought one of those today! mines blue! but it was a nightmare trying to put it back in lol. couldn't get it to become circular! then i finally managed it! Can't wait to use mine at creamfields!

  • Dude this would rock for Reading fest!

  • One reason I want a pop up tent is because i figure it would be a good thing to have if it were pooring out..

The traditional tents, there is NO (practical)way to pitch a tent when it is raining, with out it flooding

Am i correct with this thought? Or misled?

  • With a traditional two skin tent, put up the outer, leaving the inner rolled up in the bag. It doesn't matter if the inside of the outer gets wet.

Now take everything into the outer tent, where it's dry, get the inner tent out of the bag, and hook it into the outer.

I have done this in torrential rain, and ended up with a lovely dry refuge.

  • The pop up tent is for really lazy people. They laugh with others when they're struggeling with the setup of their tent while they just throw theirs in the air. However, The popups are a real pain when you need to put them back into the bag. Now, The best tent to buy if you want to be able to set the tent up in pouring rain is a tunnel tent, which is longer than normal tents (useful when you're big), but they are a bit less resistent to wind. I reckon it's still more solid than the pop ups.

  • Most tents are a real bother to get back in the bag though.

  • These "self erecting" tents often break when trying to fold them back in to their original size. They're supposed to fold in to fourths however that rarely happens, they fold in to thirds and can't be crammed back in to the bags they come in. Over time, those tents that can be folded become harder and harder to fold without breaking.

These "self erecting" tents aren't worth the money. Far better to have a normal tent one can rope to one's handlebars.

  • @thefakeyeti no no, you have it. I made a vid response below about a comprehensive review of the vango alpha 300 tent, and you are very much so correct, you could possibly pitch the tent, or any tent in rainy conditions, but it would be very hard and needs alot persistence. I would like to say a further thanks to "yeomansoutdoors" for posting ths vid, great work!!

  • @thefakeyeti tents are water proof and most people dont bother going camping when theres enough rain to flood a tent

  • @thefakeyeti

    Check out Hilleberg.

  • @thefakeyeti There are tents that you can raise within a minut or two, and if your outside while raining, you should be having proper gear on ;)
