  • He's so suave.

  • I'm 15 and dis ma song

  • LOL im only 13 yrs old and i love this song

  • Yeah chill song

  • Sweet heart, he sung this song FIRST, he didn't sample Phyllis Hyman, nor anyone else.

  • This was a funky bro in the seventies. We use to party of his music in the Ebony Club in Mobile, Alabama. He impressed me when I frist heard him.

  • this guy is a genius...

  • Everytime I hear this it gives me chills... such an easy listening song. Let your mind relax for a couple of minutes~ ^_^

  • Always thought this was George Benson. THAT is a compliment.

  • Isn't that Boney James on the alto saxophone? Dig it.

  • Probably one of the best songs of all time!!

  • I wish I could wear a fedora without looking like some hipster...

  • Sounds like Boz Scaggs.

  • @mdbrazilian Fuck yeah he does. amazing artists. this song blows my mind.

  • @wesleyburton100 If you really like this song than I highly recommend you listen to You show me by Michael Mcdonald. cronic shit

  • @wesleyburton100 Nice :)))

  • who can dislike it? some say that Lady Gaga fans

  • I can't believe how easily offended people pretend to be. There's nothing racist about saying I THOUGHT HE WAS BLACK. Y'all need to chill. All that anger is gonna kill ya. Oh, and I thought Bobby Caldwell was black. Nanner nanner.

  • What a song sang so well, even Pac done this song amazingly also nice upload.

  • LIVE LIFE....BE EASY....THINK HARD

  • I dedicate this one to my friend Haris Manis, a hell of a guy....

  • GREAT SONG HE HAS ALOT OF SOUL

  • This is one those songs that can't be song to whom ever you wanted it to be song in the first place. If you are coming back, it's because you left and not because you wanted to leave, i.e. maybe she didn't love you enough? It is not a thing of ego, but what good does it do if she does not love you anyway, the words would just be lost in space. If you were to say these words, you want to make an impact, don't you? But you won't! She probably loves some one else now.

  • that boy got to it!!

  • Anyone knows who played the sax?

  • This man has an amazing voice. Inspirational

  • 一世を風靡したAOR第一人者、ボビー・コールドウェル、ブレイク曲"What You Won't Do For Love"~伸びやかなサックスはボニー・ジェームスだな!

  • This song is over 30 years old and I can't believe people STILL don't know that he's white. Thank goodness God didn't care and gave him that voice anyway.

  • @kkj1966 i can agree i didnt find out this man was white till i was 20 that was four years ago but it doesnt matter skin color doesnt determine skill, talent,or intellect and this mans voice is awesome

  • I'm going to see Bobby Caldwell next week. Can't wait!

  • and to know that Tupac took this amazing song and created another classic with it.

  • He is so soulful the song stands on its own for all time . Sorry B.C. , I was one of those fools back in the day hateing as many did , on you . You deserved better .Always loved the song ,always will .

  • Why should it matter if he's white? He can sing....which is much more than the artists of today. So either find something else to listen to, or shut up and enjoy it. Stop complaining.

  • @Aiyoko41 yikes. So mucn anger for absolutely no reason. It doesn't matter that he's white. I'm one of the people who thought he was black. It's just an observation. Calm down.

  • Screw the "white" and the "black" bullshit. This song is the quintessencial interpretation of a man's undying love towards a woman... brilliant, Mr. Caldwell ... you are a true master of your craft!

  • The record company didn't want the public to know Bobby was white. That's why if you look at the album cover, they didn't put a picture of him anywhere on it. Bobby has also said that he didn't know that this was going to be the hit that it became.

  • Sqweeee I LOVE BOBBY CALDWELL! I am planning on seeing him in April. This is one of my favorite soul songs along with Me and Mrs. Jones.

  • All these Blue Eyed Soul artists appeared on Soul Train. Don Cornelius was liked that. He welcomed everybody on his show. Thats how I came to know of the term "Blue Eyed Soul". Soul Train was a great venue for knew talent...no matter how they looked.

  • Diggin the voice and hat!!!!

  • With a smooth and beatiful song like this i still see people complaining for something. Colour of skin, voice, the cover was better bla bla bla. Can u all plz stop with this shit? Its music, just press play, listen, and maybe say "i like it" or "i dont like it". Thats it! Its very sad to see people fighting even for a great song/singer or wathever. Is just music, made to relax, made to make u feel better. Peace to all of u people.

  • Love you Bobby!

  • Very good comment, I have to agree, when I was growing up, we didn't have videos, we were poor, couldn't afford albums, and white boys didn't sing like that, thank goodness for AWB, Chicago, and other white soulful artists!

  • 渋すぎる!

  • Mais que musica mais linda meu!

  • This song is soothing...tnx for the post. :-)

  • love this

    thanks for posting

  • Are you some kind of idiot or what? This is the guy who wrote, and sang this classic soul hit!

  • lololol. Tampa and a million others like him. I gotta admit, this is one of my favorite songs. been singin it for decades and only recently found out the brother was white. ha haaa.

    Read the text, Tampa.

  • @LesaneRecords Now when you hear something this sweet and soulful, how could anyone listen to rap?

  • @LesaneRecords He's just an ass.... excuse his comment of stupidity.

  • @Tampa0123456789 Do a little more research. You can listen to the black brothers that copied the song. Boyz II Men. Oh, and its assholes like you that keep the gap between black and white, you racist piece of shit.

  • Are you guys kidding me? Are your life that boring that you two have nothing better to do than get all worked up over a comment on the internet? Give me a break. I honestly thought he was black. I a youngster just discovering this music.

It was just a comment. A miss informed comment. I hope that you two have more important things in your lives to worry about than comments on you tube.

  • There is nothing wrong with missunderstanding information, many people think Bobby is black when they first hear him, but it was the way you said it that caused reactions.

  • @LesaneRecords He's a stones cold white, soul brother.....the best there is!

  • @LesaneRecords Tinia Marie for another artist they thought was black! Thats why she didn't put her face on her 1st album!

  • @LesaneRecords Black, white, brown..yellow........it's soul in the spirit's physical body................

  • @LesaneRecords Sweet soul brother.

  • @Tampa0123456789 You wrote all that after your first comment? Lmbo! Misinformed is putting it nicely!!!

  • @Tampa0123456789 next time be fully aware of what are you talking not only on the internet :D

  • This is the man who originally sang it. His name is Bobby Caldwell and he is white. I am African American and it is comments like this that make us look bad, next time you should research the person before you comment. Black people aren't the only people who sing with soul (Michael McDonald, Christina Aguilera, Teena Marie)

  • Comment removed

  • It's cool I wasn't offended at all! You just made a mistake, people make mistakes you just have to learn from them. It takes a big person to apologize!

  • @Tampa0123456789 That is great! That is what it's all about. Just enjoy it. Eveyone makes assumptions and it is rare to learn from them. Don't feel bad as you had no bad intentions. Enjoy. Critical people, just enjoy.

  • @CJRavenFan91 Please add Alice Russell to that list!!!!! :)

  • @Tampa0123456789 , I was actually kinda tickled over your comment but, only because I knew Bobby was white. He belongs in the category...white boys with soul.

Hall and Oates,Phil Collins , Michael McDonald, Steeley Dan, Average White Band and a few others are in that category as well.

    No harm, no foul.

  • @purpleknightmom correct assessment, people have too many diverse talents to categorize them

  • @Tampa0123456789 You are sadly mistaken bro. This white dude is the cool cat that wrote and sang the song back in the days of good music. He's a very soulful singer and writer. Check out his other hits. You'll be hook on Bobby too

  • @Tampa0123456789 Ha ha!!! You chimp brained idiot!!! GO BACK TO THE JUNGLE APE MAN!!!

  • @Tampa0123456789 Apparently many people made that mistake in thinking that Bobby was Black. I never did- nor did I care what color he was. I was a bit surprised to read what his record did in terms of trying to hide his identity initially. Silly, or so I thought at first. Then I realized that maybe, just maybe. they were applying their own biases and extending them to the Soul/R&B consumer WITHOUT DOING THEIR OWN DAMN RESEARCH.

  • @Tampa0123456789 You dumb ass.... he is the Black voice that sung this song.... LMAO.

  • @Tampa0123456789 Classic! Don't worry, a lot of people thought Bobby was black :)

  • @Tampa0123456789 - You are a real a dumb sh--! Racism goes both ways. I'm white and can KILL this number. I'll bet you can't sing a note you racist pc of sh--!

  • @MDS1958 He admitted his mistake a long time ago. Chill.

  • @LesaneRecords . and who are you, the Youtube police? The stupid comment happens, for some reason, to remain at the top and the first thing that everyone sees. If the dude had any sense, he would simply remove the dumb comment. YOU CHILL. Peace.

  • love this song.

  • i grew up to this song!

  • I am getting married today and we will be dancing our first dance to this song. Could there be a more appropriate first dance song?

  • bobby caldwells a pimp

  • Boney James is the best sax player ever! What a great band, what a great mix, Bobby sounded beautiful.

  • i thought this guy was a brother , fuk it doesnt matter though, happy new year

  • Now, who's that terrific sax player? He´s the best i've seen with Bobby

  • @DaleyDerek not based his song off of, pretty much took his song. he just wrote lyrics for the verses. the rest is just a mixed version of this and altered vocals for the hook.

  • aw dis da song but i aint neva think he was white Still da song

  • I love this song all my life i thought an african american sang this song wow it really doesn't matter cause the song is AWESOME.

  • exactly...good music is good music.

  • Amazing sax solo

  • Yeah man! Who's that guy?

  • Read the above. Boney James

  • That cuz it's Boney James. He is the man.

  • Bobby C. is a smooth dude....love this song.

  • you have to check out the Janet video here as well. BC is one of the best Jazz R&B entertainers I can recall. Dude and his band are just so good.

  • One of my favorite songs ever.

  • I am so surprised though. I love this song, it is one of my top three favorite songs, but everyone I know thinks I am lying when I say that Mr. Caldwell is white. He really is awesome.

  • bobby is a suave ass pimp

  • this is the shit

  • is this what tupac based his song off of? cuz if he did, both this and his cover r amazing, i love it

  • this is a good song. truly a classic.

  • This song is sweet sweet food for the soul.

  • Have always loved this song! Never seen him sing live. Thanks for posting.

  • i didn't know this guy was white shoot i thought it started with justin timberlake first he got taste back then

  • better than justin timberlake real talent

  • As a fellow honkey it is rare for a white guy to sound this good. I listen to Agueillera and all em and I don't really hear much emotion--they're too busy showing off with their "ooh babys" and shit.

But when Bobby sings you can hear all the warmth and love in his voice. You just know that he was one of the good guys.

  • Incredible voice! Love this song!

  • Its very rare for a white guy to have a soul ful voice, but this cat is got it.Great song, great lyrics...Special song.

  • Listening to this song on the way to work this morning, looked it up on utube and have been playing it over and over all day, what a good song!

  • One of my favorites....sometimes sounds like Bob Scagz...but Bobby's got it....r

  • gettheclubcrunk, you are a RETARD if you think that this is the only hit Bobby Caldwell came out with, you obviously don't know what your talking about, and you're an idiot. Here's a couple other hits he came out with: My Flame, Open Your Eyes, Heart of Mine, Beyond the Sea.

listen to those, and next time keep your mouth shut about shit you don't even know about, cock sucker!

  • Geeze....what's with all the anger, MellaMique?

  • i swear i didnt even write that haha wtf im hella trippin now. i think my cousin wrote that cuz i hate wen people say "cock sucker" haha

  • This is such a great song - very smooth. Love the sax player.

  • i listened to this song for years riding with my momma on 98.7 kiss Fm and i just knew this was a black man.

  • Bobby Caldwell is white, a fact that was hidden when the album with this song was released.

  • Bobby is smooth as he want to be...great artist!

  • the sax oh mannnn wicked...

    song is a classic
