  • I bet that STANK!

  • Does this process smell really bad?

  • if his wife sees that he is so dead!

  • looks awesome man

  • Its making me laugh all the comments about waiting for the wife to be out....I am the wife and have waited for my husband to go out as hes totally grossed out by the whole process. My deer head is stunning - found on a walk hit by a car I returned with a hacksaw and removed the head too good to leave! Am simmering him as I post this. Great video - I love what you can find on you tube!

  • @crazy7chick1 hahahaha convince my girlfriend to be more awesome like you please!

  • haha if she gets mad after the video just tell her you used her toothbrush :D

  • do you changing the water a couple of time??

  • can you boil a bird skull???

  • @TheCarvingman im thinking about doing an entire crow...

  • If you add a bit of dawn dish soap to the water you boil the skull in it will degrease it just fine.

  • thanks for the video. this was a huge help. i do a little bit of home taxidermy, mostly because its fun, but it also saves money. all ive done so far is duck wings and a coyote skull with the mouth open, and right now im working on my dads 8 point into a european mount.

  • fuckin gross man

  • DEMON DEER 2:12

  • Great video. Thanks for posting. I made a European Skull Mount recently, before I had watched any videos. I ended up covering most of the bases, but I never bleached the skull. I think they look cool, with or without the bleach. You did a great job on yours. Maybe I'll bleach my next one. I posted a video recently where I talk about how I did mine. I had a few folks asking me about it. Happy huntin'!

  • @OutdoorsmanByDesign You can always go back and bleach it later if you want to.

  • so in the beginning you cut the ears off and then just boiled it with the hair on. Then did you scrap all of the hair off in a couple of hours was it easy to just scrape all the hair off?

  • @hondachevy85 The processing facility I went to took the head off just like this allowing for very little waste. After boiling for several hours you can probably just squirt it with a water hose and LOTS of the hair, meat will fall off. And actually, it's best if you don't BOIL, it but get as close as possible.

  • @quebow03 I am doing my second skull mount now and its for a friend. the deer was not frozen and had set outside for 3 to 4 weeks. in temps. around 40 degrees and frezzing at night. their were maggots and stuff all over it. does this make the teeth loose? and the nose brittle. the tip broke so i will have to glue it but as for cleaning the nose holes im nervous. suggestions?

  • @sweetspency I can't really say given your scenario. I know some people will throw the head onto a fire ant bed and let nature work on it for a while. Others buy those flesh-eating beetles to do the work. I bet you could throw yours in a pot of hot (almost boiling) water for 5-6 hours and be mostly done.

  • is there such thing as a head mount like a mount with the skin on the head but not a shoulder mount

  • @qdoom102 Never seen one. No reason you can't try though

  • @qdoom102 yes, i have #2 of them, rare tho

  • @qdoom102 I've seen tons with no shoulder and it probably goes have way down the neck.

  • do the brains just boil out of the skull?

  • They turn into something that looks like scrambled eggs... then you just scrape them out.

  • @quebow03 ok thank you

  • im actually doing mine right now as we speak, watching your video for help, thanks a million for the video!

  • I think that it's so funny that everyone says the same thing about their wife... "If my wife knew I was doing this I'd be in trouble..."

  • @timmymo22 She has acclimated to my barbarian practices over the past 9 years

  • I think I had this in hot water for 6-8 hours. Easy to do on the weekend between naps and ball games. Smells like beef stew. :) good luck!

  • At 0:45 it kinda looks like the bone collector logo only without the drop tines. Also does it smell bad when it boils?

  • At 0:45 it kinda looks like the bone collector logo only without the drop tines.

  • how long did it take to do this all together? im wanting to do this with the 9 pointer i just killed

  • @redneckyankee93 took me a full day; then bleached it

  • This was real helpful, thank you very much! Your the man. I just got a six point and I don't have any money for mounts!!! Thanks again.

  • Great video! I'm actually researching how to do this so I can HELP my husband who just pulled up with a nice 8-pointer.

  • @sharalynn72 You sound like my wife Your husband is a lucky man :)

  • You should have used 40 volume cream developer

  • nice deer wher eu shoot it

  • HAHAHA my wife hates all my hunting sh!t too good times

  • @reefermadness82 Then divorce her!

  • Last thing you need to do is boil a deer skull

  • this guys wife must be a battle ax, lol

  • Nice video, nice finished product, thanks.

  • @max4hunter1 Be super careful when doing a coyote head, the teeth will fall out if you boil it for very long at all. If they do, just glue them back in. If you bring to a boil, then drop temp to 140 , add about a cup per gal of baking soda, and use caution you should be able to get all the meat off without ending up toothless.

  • nice job =) but where can i get a buckhead here in germany ;)

  • good job on the mount. skinning the head and trying to get every piece of meat off is a long grueling process that demands patience. boiling it for several hours is not uncommon. one thing i found out is that a high-pressured steam cleaner will get the job done very effectively. however, you must use it with caution. note that high-pressured steam is several times hotter than boiling water and can cause serious injury. but, it makes cleaning the brain and nasal cavities much easier and faster.

  • tie a rope around the nose while it dries and it while keep the nose from spliting

  • Don't boil it!!! Allowing the water to come to a boil causes the water that gets into the seams of the skull to turn to steam and separate the skull. Use baking soda to raise the boiling point of the water so that you can still have it hot enough to cook off the flesh without boiling it.

  • i'm a 19 year old girl and i'm going to give this a shot on my bucks skull from this fall! great video! =]

  • A friend of mine uses a half and half mixture of bleach and water when boiling the scull to help with removing the meat and also it helps in whitening the bone

  • Good luck!!

  • @quebow03

  • Very Nice, I'm about to go down to the garage to start mine. This will be my first, so thanks for the video.

  • Man, you must really hate your wife!!! Thanks for the info!
