  • @gryffynda the same thought crossed my mind

  • 1:03 TENSO

  • LONG LIVE HINDUISM

  • It's sounding like Carmina Burana, lol

  • Fuck all you bitch whores in hell. You fucktards just asswiped the hell out of this bitchass song.

  • @needoomoleoo

Opera fans talk like this? LOL wow they have come a long way.

  • I heard a better versions of this in Saarbrücken (Germany).

It sounded way more chaotic with way better strings.

But maybe its just the sound quality!

  • The Met's was better.

  • Perhaps it's because I saw it in a concert format at the Atlanta Symphony, but most of the opera left me completely cold.

I did, however, have a fondness for this chorus.

  • Wow... This is modern opera. And it sounds like... Good music! Progress!

  • Haha! I take it you're not a fan of pieces like Messiaen's St Francois then?

  • Really don't know. I'm struggling to get beyond the 19th century anyhow.

  • I just watched a screening of this opera! It was SO awesome! I loved this chorus!

  • i think this was much better than the MET version, it was conducted much to fast, and even though this staging is a bit odd, it comes off much better than the static line they stood in at the MET version.

  • Nah I think the met's was much better and more exciting - this chorus feels kind of tedious at this slower tempo.

  • well regardless the met version was not well staged, lines of people singing while random native americans stand above them are not at all reminiscent of an atomic bomb explosion which is what this piece is supposed to portray

  • I agree, the Met version was really static. This version is very, very weird, but at least the staging adds to the effect of the music instead of detracting from it. I love Adams' orchestral music - not a fan of his choral stuff.

  • I think I preferred the MET recording of this chorus, as the MET chorus just had so much more power behind them and the lighting here feels just a bit too brightly coloured, but overall the MET staging was too static, just here this chorus is a little bit too overdone I think.

  • I think that for the scene about being hit by a fucking atomic bomb, it's done at an appropriate level.

  • I wish the camera would pan out once in a while instead all those extreme closeups.

  • zijn er hier Nederlandsers die alle negers en moslims uit Nederland willen sturen? Voordat zij onze grote 2,7 duizend jaar oude westerse traditie vernietigen.

  • I love this. Do you have any other parts of the opera you can upload, Arsace86, or will I just have to wait for the Met performance to hear the rest?

  • This is a great chorus. The alternation between chorus and orchestration makes a wonderful and very creative combination. This is excellent music, especially for our current standards of Opera composition... ;-)
