Back to Virtual Dethklok a moment, 1:04 reminds me of exactly why I like Charles Foster Ofdensen so much. It's like he's the only sane guy in Mordhaus (or was, before Mordhaus burned), and he's really the only guy keeping the band together. So, naturally, the band members crap all over the poor guy every chance they get.

There is truth in what you are saying. But there are also several reasons for it.

1. In a case where it is metal mixed with hip-hop or pop or some other similar form of music. (Like Nu-Metal, for example.)

2. Metal vs Hardcore. (When they mix, like with Metalcore, Deathcore, etc.)

3. Old School vs New School. I personally prefer more old school metal, but to each their own.

4. When the band/genre goes in a very mainstream direction.
