  • if you just look carefully at how he collapses the model and try it multiple times you ll get it eventually

  • You speak Portuguese

  • Gente qual é o nível de dificuldade desse? Obg

  • @jonakashima Hey , Jo, I'm sorry but I didn't understand the collapse part... could you make a better tutorial, please?

  • 1 our and i have a snowball and a owl

  • I GOT IT!!! HALLELUJAH!!! TOOK ME THIRTY MINUTES!! THANK YOU! :D

  • i got it first try, only to realize I used the wrong side of the paper. Well i guess i now have an albino owl.

  • omg omg omg! I finally made it!!! This was like my 10th try and I finally got it right!

  • are you using tant?

  • i cant collapse the model! aahhhhh, fustration.

  • im haveing a hard time colapseing the model

  • it looks like thick paper, what kind is it?

  • this owl is really cool but the first time i failed but the second time i succseded

  • My owl looks derpy

  • I have two pieces of paper pre-creased and everything, but I can't fold it together. >.<

  • hey, what sizes is it?

    8х8 inches?

  • I made a nice piece of poop!!

  • i made it!! this is amazing, my first origami this kind. thanks!

  • whoa that was actually pretty simple: )!!!!!!!!!!

  • i dislike this because he or she never talks in the videos. he or she should either speak in their videos and explain things so more people will be able to understand them or viewers should just watch other origami tutorials.

  • @bongkikika the only think that I don't like in the videos is the sound of the folding paper, I mute the sound and I listen to music, in other videos he puts subtitles, in this he made a kind of plan and this way is totally awesome.

  • I got it. But there's this thing that you do with the tail (14:38) & I don't really understand what you're doing. Also, I couldn't get the eyes.

Is it easier with construction paper? I'm using origami paper & it doesn't hold at all. I have to use tape.

  • Man, I got stuck on the first step... :)

  • WOW! I'm only good enough to make a firework never mind THAT!

  • i DID iT!!!!!! thank u so mucho the diagram was really helpful, the eyes are quite difficult, i'm happy :) grettins from mexico!!

  • @25ZARAA alittle bit difficult

  • this was really hard you should go a little slower next time write back

  • This was really hard you should speak cuz we students dont know sign laugue were in the 7th grade and the eyes are really hard you u aslo play some soft music or smething

  • Really hard to see what you are doing when you move out of the view of the camera, especially towards the end

  • Yes, Pointing at squares, that is so much better than words. It's not a bad tutorial, but after 6 minutes in, I got lost because I couldn't figure out what you meant when you where pointing to all the different squares. I know have a piece of paper with about a million folds on it and no idea how to get to the owl...

  • I managed to make one, but I have trouble with the flaps that are supposed to hold the wings in place (14:58). They keep coming out from the hole they should be in. :-/

  • I was able to fold it but an explenation wwould have been nice...

  • damned... this is a great video but one thing... this noise of nails scratching a paper is just more than creepy! i want to puke and shit at one time. please, put here a soft, nice music or even just a commentary...

  • I MADE IT. the only that was hard was folding the eyes

  • Made it!! =D Thank you so much for the tutorial!! The diagram was really helpful =) It's so cute!! ^^

  • thumbs up if you think it looks like gengar the pokemon

  • i did it but the wings were so haaaard.... :(

  • I'd done it at first try today.. it's really pretty cute!! ^ ^

  • you put it a music of owl city XD

  • This is a great :)

  • no i did NOT manage

  • okkkkkkkkkkkk im going to watch TVthats much easyer

  • made it! had to use tape for the wings because the flap didn't connect on to the body

  • Could u use 15x15

  • @TheChannelGuy1 Of course you can!! =D It's what I did ;-)

  • darn!

  • What's with you people? 16x16 and 8x8 must be a square paper.

  • Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

  • yay! i did it! 1st try!

  • hei super, habe Freude an meiner Eule :)

  • can you make a tutorial showing how to read a crease pattern especially the complex ones?

  • the second time i watched this, i made Crease Pattern (CP) indicating moutain vs valley folds, and then I found Davor Vinko's CP on flickr, which was also a big help. I used inexpensive copy paper and then used glue stick to get the little tabs to stay. but i couldn't get the tail or legs really, so i faked it. why don't your legs look like Davor Vinko's owl-with-wings on flickr?

  • i failed....i got almost to the end but my folds all messed up :/

  • My owl turned into a blobfish , nice video though.,.

  • Man, you rule. This is tough, but a kind of beauty. It will be a wonderful present for a lovely friend. Thx

  • Ok its impossible with stiff paper

  • i kind of made it

  • Coool! but it took me 1 hour :( but :)

  • AWESOME , I MADE IT IN MY FIRST TRY :D

  • Is this real? I do a paper ball :D

  • @derpmaster11 the pre-creasing is done at 09:40

  • I DID IT! wow this is one of the hardest origami I've ever done. Great video!!!

  • Would this work with 6inch by 6inch paper? (15 1/2 cm by 15 1/2 cm)

  • man when is pre creaseing done?

  • the thing on top doesnt really help lol

    cind of waste of time...

  • white side up?

  • which side up plz respond

  • this is hard i gusse ill just throw this pice of papper away =(

  • start with white side up or down?

  • Would printer paper work too?

  • @greenylimew yes of course!

  • I made it but i cant tuck the wings so i just use clear tape and my little brother thinks he is falcomon and the tape is his clothes! Kids today sure are crazy including me

  • i made this but i cant get the corners of the wings to stay tucked in. >:/ i just used plain white printer paper tho, so maybe its the weakness of the paper.

  • i know its square paper but wat kind is it printer or origami plz respond

  • Woop!!! I made it, after nearly ripping it up about 10 times out of anger! You are honestly the best origamist I have found on YouTube!!

  • I just saw the vid and I'm going to make it

  • what paper did u use plz respond :-)

  • you will end up in saw

  • @megantiet101 yes it is

  • How thick is the paper you're using?

  • Ive done it first time, amazing design, i like it, i had some problems with at the end when you put the paper inside so it dont open up, mine openup so i had to tape

  • this looks difacalt

  • Just wondering what kind of paper you used? I tried with what I thought was a quite thick origami paper but it didn't work because it wasn't stiff enough. I tried with card but that was too thick and didn't stay properly (I had to use some tape) Any hints? Awesome model btw :D

  • @mynameisbatty1988

    i agree!!!

  • hey jo plese make that grph all the time in ur vids thanks

  • i think the problem with most people's paper is that it isn't stiff enough. it looks like he's using pretty stiff paper. if it doesn't work to tuck the wings/the feet i suggest to use a little bit of glue (even if that's tabu in origami). but if it's just a hobby, i think it's okay. worked for me. :) my own is sitting in my christmas tree.

  • i managed to fold it but the wings dont stay tucked :/ any idea why?

  • @iswsmiamera Same problem here! I think it's the paper. The one used on the video seems thicker. IDK

  • what is "square paper" in portuguese?? Someone, plz, translate it to me! I tryed to do it with normal paper but I couldn't.

The paper was very delicate and i couldn't double correctly the eyes :(

  • @SrtaMarcie papel quadrado

  • @jonakashima thaanks :*

  • @jonakashima quad is four :D

  • @SrtaMarcie hay yeah the girl already told you that i think it is square

  • Wow awesome yay my own owl

  • This was my very first attempt at oragami. I was able to complete the owl twice, however the paper I was using did not withstand manipulation very well. I know there is a specialty paper for oragami, but what other papers have you found that work well?

  • WHAT THE FUCK

  • thank you jonakashima

  • did you use square paper ???? plz respond

  • @TyrellMunroe2010 @TyrellMunroe2010 pass:123123qweqwe

  • should've used heavier paper >.< when i tuck in the fold near the end it gets loose and comes back out.. =< damn

  • thank you jonakashima you helped me alot and i even made the flying thing so thank you and when my dad saw the flying thing he was like good boy

  • I like the sound that the paper make :)

  • i was utterly confused with the legs. i couldnt get it!

  • 1 hour folding and couldnt do it, fuck it -.-

  • @Ignograus same here i agree with u i cann't do the legs and eyes fuck it (-_-)

  • i just cant make the wings and the tail :C

  • color or white side up

  • @musicmixer112 start with white side up (I think!)

  • @jonakashima its color side up i tried but made a white owl when it was meant to be purple : )

  • looks very nice :) mine seems more like an egg with wings though :P guess i should've used stronger paper..

guess I'll have to cheat and use some glue to make it at least look remotely like an owl

  • U R SOOOOOO GOOD!

  • can this work with foil paper i have gold

  • have you got any book by miachel g lafosse?

    GREATE vid btw! :)

  • @MrMultidream no, I don't have any book from Lafosse yet

  • YEAH I MADE IT USING A PRINTER PAPER INTO SQAURE AND ITS Exzatcly like the won at begining execpt tail

  • whao! i cant even make the eyes XD

  • end of precreasing 8x8 grid 3:22 btw

  • so cute! but need the thick paper to make it work!

  • @humelumsen card stock paper 120 grams. office depot has it

  • wow, it's beautiful!

  • OMG! Thanks :D

  • é um pouco difícil, mas fica legal no final ^^

  • What kind of paper did you use??????

  • @OrigamiTime

I don't know the name of this paper, but it is a little thick (120 g/m²)

  • @OrigamiTime I think this is the japanese origami paper just a bit thicker,I don't know the name of this one but the usual japanese origami paper is called WASHI

  • @OrigamiTime It looks like cardstock paper to me.

  • i managed to finish folding one. thx for this vid! cheers! ;)

  • no vinko but owl but owl is bird :-) sorry

  • btw, i enjoyed the grid you put up, it helped out tons :))
