  • i liked it that u took the intro from one of his live performances, i wana learn that intro

  • kumag

  • Wow...you drummer dosent knw what the hell hes doing lol!!!!

  • you so took that intro in the biggining and mid solo from one of erics live performences, haha, still nice though.

  • @SinOfDrkness obviously...

it's from the Austin City Limits performance

  • @CarterFilmLtd Do you have the tabs from the intro at Austin City Limits? If so can you give them to me, I would really appreciate it :)

  • its cool that you can play it that fast, but it doesnt really sound that great, not to me anyway, if you want to play fast you have yngwie malmsteen to cover

    good job nonetheless

  • ugg

  • brillaint, i definitely envy you!

  • Nice job! Just a suggestion, take it a little bit slower in the future... other than that, very good performance. I like the improvization in it.

  • Great job

  • this sounded horrendous....work on the bends...your not bending the string enough...and you speed up a lot.

    work on it lots.

    :D

  • you suck dick you cunt. lets see you play it no really post the video you cocksucker.

  • ok.

  • wow when you turned the distortion on and started rocking out the place went crazy!

  • future rockstar. good job man

    sportsnuts883 fuck you

    :D

    great job man

    dont listen to these fuckers

  • well woop dee doo sports nut. come back when you have some nuts.

  • Comment removed

  • ego ego ego.....you will never make anything of your playing with that kinda od unprofessionalism.

  • To those that commented on the speed being too fast, he's playing at the pace set by the drummer. Drummers don't follow lead guitar players.

  • actually, he comes into the song really fast

  • Just the fact that he can play it faster than Eric Johnson originally did is amazing.

  • they should if the guitar player is soloing

  • I disagree. The drummer should stay in the pocket and keep the song's rhythm going so the guitarist's solo can soar all over it in any direction he chooses. Solo improvisation makes it difficult for the drummer to also improvise on the fly.

  • it is not the sole job of one human being to keep tempo. It should ALWAYS be a group effort.....

  • that was alittle fast

  • The tempo was to high, if it had been slower it had been great.

  • I agree w/most comments here - you've got great chops, just work on the timing and feel. Keep up the good work!

  • Great job! You've clearly studied EJ's Austin City Limits version.

  • goo good very good

    the guy is guitar good...

  • he was probably nervous, don't blame him for speeding up.

  • what is homecoming?

  • You're talented, but you need to play the song at the right tempo to get the right feel out of it man!

All the notes were there, you rock! Keep it up!

  • great work man! crowd loved ya!

  • he isnt too fast, eric has played live a lot faster than that...

  • great sound but keep on work you gonna be very good !

  • dude you were out of time, this song needs to be played slower... you have the skill, just sounds better slower

  • nicely done

  • That was pretty damned impressive!

That's one of the most accurate live covers I've ever heard before

  • hahahaha nice boy good job bro that song is very hard to play the only one ,change the drummer you need a drummer with more skill bye .

  • you make make sick :) - Can you email me the tone settings? Awesome job.

  • What do you use to get the infinite delay at the beginning? I can't figure it out, none of the pedals I've looked at online can actually do that. Great cover.

  • Too much fuzz.....the verse is too fast, but otherwise , pretty good

  • Good Job....You're on the right road. Keep on rockin'.

  • all my sounds come from the Line 6 Vetta II amp except for the clean at the beginning which is a vintage Fender Deluxe Reverb

  • that fender is quite an amp

  • Nice - i use a Vetta 2 HD myself. normally I use a hybrid tone from a Mesa Triple Rectifier amp model and a Line 6 Treadplate amp model. I dialed in a great Cliffs of Dover tone for my performce using a completely different configuration - that's the great thing about the Vetta! Nice work.

  • amazing job...

    wut pedal do you use?

  • wow.. shit man

    that was amazing...

for your age and.. i know how to play that song and

    i completely understand the difficulties..

Very Few mistakes but it's live performance so

Mad Props man.. Rock on.. 5/5

  • haha,

that put a smile on my face. the "pop punk" cliffs of dover! well done.

  • how old are u..?

    haha..! great job..!

we'll play dat song in our college fair..

weee.... hope we can make it

  • Get you some that wa awsome great job

  • Kick Ass Job Fellows!!!! Keep Rockin" Do not allow the fire to burn out.

  • Amazing! the good thing is you didnt try to copy eric johnson with every note, you just shredded your own style with it. Excellent showmanship too!

  • AMAZING JOB! Yea, sure there might have been one or two slips, but guys, come on, it's a very difficult song to play, so amazing job and you have incredible potential! Keep it UP!

  • for wat it is and the band u had to work with it was very good wat are u 17 ur a very skilled and u do need to work with ur timeing a little i suggest to use a metranome but ur very good and u have massive potential and ur going to do well keep it up and work hard

  • ahahahahahha this is incredible, and especially since its at your homecoming, thats awesome. You guys did a fantastic job.

  • It's nice but you should've given it your own twist. It was JUST like Eric's...

  • Splendid job. Yes, there are a few bald spots in there--but even Eric Clapton and Eddie Van Halen moan to this day about mistakes they made in some of their classic solos. Thanks for the free ice cream!

  • Eric Johnson's incredible picking technique makes it hard to do any of his material justice, but you did a good job on a difficult song. All I can suggest is to hit the metronome and keep on keepin' on.

  • The chord solo is a really nice touch. Good job man.

  • How old are you??? man i feel sucky =(

  • This song is 'nails. You've done a great job. Anyone saying it sucks is probably at home in their bedrooms working on some "technique is all, forget musicianship and feel" satriani abomination. And quaking in their shoes at the prospect of playing live. Good onya, keep rocking.

  • i wouldnt say it was horrible...it was very good. but there was some sloppy parts definitely. but, i cant say much because while ive been playing for 14 years, ive just started messing around with CoD and it is NOT an easy song. great job overall! keep rockin'!

  • Impressive. That was amazing. A bit too much shredding? For CoD, yes, but it was still the best cover I've heard/seen so far. Amazing.

  • While it gets kinda messed up from about 4:00-4:15 due to overplaying, this kid's instincts, feel and technique were very good indeed. He tried to put his stamp on it, as all good musicians should. I enjoyed it enough to add it to my favorites. So keep on truckin' dude!

  • i really wish i could be as good at guitar as you.. forget hendrix.. haha GREAT job man.

  • nice dude, that was kick ass!!

  • best cover of EJ Cliffs of Dover I heard so far

  • thanks man! i really appreciate that

  • @CarterFilmLtd fuck man i hate u.....because in have to clean up the mess made by u BLOWING MY MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......PS i dont really hate u

  • a lil toooo heavy on the improv :/ Eric doesn't do shredding or tapping. :/ but pretty good :)

  • WOW!!!

  • I only wish the audio quality of the recording were better.

  • Great job... I think your drummer got too excited and made the tempo too fast

  • Highschool talent show? This song came out when I was in highschool and I couldnt play it that well. Your clean sound is a pretty decent replica of EJ. Good job dude..

If this doesn't get you laid.. :)

  • Got your message on Facebook about the vid...great cover man!!!
