  • Very Beautiful Song!!!

  • Childhood memories...

  • This song is beautiful in all versions... The truth, the orchestral disco beats and voices with pronounced French accent in this version make me go up to the same Paradise, like says the lyrics of the song...

  • @discotrader Beautiful comment!

  • I had the privilige of having been born in the 60's and thus grew up during the 70's listening to big time hits like this one...Sometime in the early 70's I somehow felt or knew that the 70's decade would go on to be a force to be reckon with in terms of its music and that it would leave behind its mark in history in a big time way...more than 30 years later I am congratulating myself for how right I was....great disco hit!!..thanks for posting it!!..please post more Jupiter Sunset Band hits..

  • Disco Forever !!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song, but some really strange harmonics going on with this recording. Makes my ears hurt listening to it. Are you juicing the recording?

  • There are some unusual harmonies, but I think it makes it more interesting. I have to disagree with you: it certainly doesn't hurt my ears! If nothing else, it shows the skill that's been put into this record.

  • What's the classical piece that the main "Stranger in Paradise" motif comes from? Is it by Rimsky-Korsakov?

  • Just found out. The main melody is from the Polovetsian Dances from the opera "Prince Igor" by Russian composer Alexander Borodin (1880s).

The song "Stranger in Paradise" is from the 1953 musical "Kismet".

  • "Stranger in Paradise"

    from "Kismet"

Written by Chet Forrest, Bob Wright (after Aleksandr Borodin)

  • It's full sexy classic disco sound!!!

  • This is a rare gemm indeed! So grateful you posted it-Thanks.

  • This is pretty dam brilliant. Definitely in my disco top ten ! I love the orchestral disco style and the sax solo. Great stuff.

  • Possibly the best disco record of all time???

5:09 - 7:22 is hypnotic. Anyone else agree?

  • I do. One of the best.

  • Agree 100%

  • I'm with you - one of the records that got me started collecting disco some years ago. I have 4 different versions of the LP, artwork wise. Superbe on a sunday morning or in a club that is still filling up... respect for the pick, THUNDERBALS (discogs/djhistory)...

  • @atmosfear1 Best!!!!!!!!!!

  • @atmosfear1 I found this and think its quite hypnotic.. Yes totally agree. Great riff and bass line throughout.. I agree until I think of something. LOL

  • QUELLE MERVEILLE!

  • Sounds very much like Costandinos, my favorite Disco artist. I absolutley love symphonic Disco, being that the violin is my favorite instrument. I have a song which I will post here, it sounds similar to this.

  • There was a DJ named Earnie from Union Hill high school who recorded a Mixed 8-Track tape for me and It had this song in it. But I still

have that 8-track tape and this song sounds different than this version - In other words it had different samples. What's there a 12" version of this song? - Does anybody know? - Thanks again.

  • This song is getting to me, it's beautiful.

  • Is that Grace Jones, sounds like her. This song is nice, it's slowly flowing into my Disco vanes.

  • Syntaxdisco, do you exchange or share or sell your music. I need more, I am running dry. Ever since Dr. Rob went off the air, it's being bad. I have a large collection, mainly mp3's. But I have some rare gems in tapes. One is from Taty and his brother Ralf, one of the best DJ's I ever heard. The other stuff is from a very good friend of mine, Many Gonzalez, let me tell he could mix a storm. Thanks

  • I never heard this version, it's nice, wow, it must be rare cause I never heard it. I have the Isacc Hayes version which is beautiful, most people haven't heard it. Thanks for posting.

  • Wow, this is really a very underground and very hard 2 get record,(sound like cerrone) searching for years..!!never found it in any site on the net!! Thanx Syntaxdisco

  • Oh boy I been looking for this song since 1977 and I never knew who the artist was. I remember listening to this song at a Disco Party by tony DJ at the Liceo Cubano In Union City, NJ. - Beautiful!!!!!!

  • Cojone, Liceo Cubano, brother, I was there all the time, cono. I grew up in beautiful Union City, went to Emerson High School. Yo soy Carlos Miguel, dimelo, quien tu eres.

I know who Tony DJ is, I remember him from 48th st Bergenline Ave. Man this is a small world.

  • Wow! Is good to hear from someone from that time and place. Yo soy Angel OLiva and I went to Union Hill high in Union City. I will problably remember you If I see you I have a good memory. But brother those were the good old days, riding up & down Bergenline Ave. Going to every Disco Party - the Liceo / the V.F.W. on 38th - Saint Rocco at Kennedy BLVD and 48th. I also used to go Elegante & The Soap Factory Disco Club. And you're right, this is a small world. - Man you made my day!!!

  • You forgot Embassy Hall, and the Hudson Club, just to name a few. Man I can take those memories out of my mind. Like you say, if I see you too, I'll probably recognize you too. I went to Emerson from 74-78.
