When Kurt was trying to knock that Ghast's fireballs back at it I was like, "THEY CAN'T GET HURT BY THEIR OWN FIREBALLS IT'S POINTLESS TO TRY AND KILL THEM LIKE THAT!!!" Then, of course, he hit the Ghast with its fireball and it died, and I was like, "Wait...what?"

Kurt, Ghasts don't aim at you. They aim at the Camera. If you go into 3rd Person, they're less likely to hit you. Also, if any block at all is in between you and them, even glass, they can't see you, so bringing glass is useful for safety since you can see out it yourself.

It's funny how properly survival horror-like this all was. Kurt ventured far into the nether, feeling sufficiently comfortable, only to suddenly encounter a far more threatening enemy out of the blue, and suddenly find them to be far more numerous.

Kurt the easiest way to deal with the blazes would be to make some potions of fire resist. Thanks to this visit to the nether, you already have all the ingrediants (magma cream, nether wart, redstone) and all you need now is a blaze rod for the brewing stand. once you have fire resist, your pretty much immune to the blazes attacks, making it easier to traverse the nether strongholds.

My strategy for killing Blazes is to find the spawner, wall it off leaving a single hole and hit them through the hole. They almost always drop Blaze Rods, so it's a good way to accumulate them quickly.

Blaze aren't that strong, you got to either get in melee, or at long range, just don't stay at medium range

Hey Kurt here's a few tips for fighting Blaze:

Alone they don't pose as much of a threat as they do in a group.

When they become ingulfed in flames it means they are about to shoot, the will shoot three fireballs at you, and then go into a cooldown for a few moments.

You can block these fireballs using the block with your sword.

Once they go into cool down, just keep hitting them.

Lather, rinse, repeat ^_^

Kurt, it is easy to grow your own nether warts near your portal. Grab a bunch of soulsand and lava buckets. then plant them like you would wheat. warts grow well near lava

Blazes are so easy to fight once you have potion of Fire resistance

I'd recommend making an extended potion of fire resistance to deal with the blazes. It would require that you get at least one blaze rod for the brewing stand, but it makes you practically invincible when facing the blazes!
