  • Nice FRACTAL feel to this. Instant classic of EBM.

  • Wow, I never realized how good NiN was until i played the first Quake with the soundtrack in. Now i love NiN

  • "Head like a hole you've blocked out your soul I'd rather die then give you control!"

we should march all the way to D.C. protesting with this anthem.. Who else is with me?

  • @horuskin He actually says "Black as your soul." Not trying to be a dick or anything:D

  • Oh My God, this song bring back memories of being 18, seeing Trent and the Boys at the Vatican in Houston.

  • @Alphahighvoltage74 The Vatican/Abyss was the greatest club ever. I drove by there a couple of months ago. The vacant building is still there. Wanna buy it and restore Wash Ave to its former glory and blow the crap out of Austin?

  • its awseome that the muscial genious trent reznor is now an oscar winner anyone agree? he deserved it thats for sure nine ince nails rules

  • @movieman104 trent reznor doesnt need some hollywood industry to recognize his talent. thats kind of like a lion needing approval from a house cat. fuck the oscars.

  • @theFEMAcampESCAPEE maybe but its nice to see real music talent get an oscar now and then and not some rapper getting an oscar or an ok cartoon song.

  • Rock Band 3 next Tuesday Confirmed! Bow down....

  • haaha i guess ALLLLLLL irish are 2 blame 4 all the DWI deaths in amerca.stupid shit.if 100 rich jews are responsible for the decay of whole wolrd??????crimnalize all jews? then were a bunch of pussies who cant do anything i guess???CATHOLIC CHURCH=WORLD BANK=WORLD DOMINATION the great whore of babylon. The jew thing is a smoke screen from them.

  • @GhostTownerz well jews arent even human so yes xDDD lmao jpjp

  • @BikersFromIreland - The late 80s/early 90s saw some of the best music ever produced, and with a policy of not selling out to commercial taste and markets. Up until Warhol, the Art world also had a policy of no sell out and many of those Artists were Jewish and produced some of the best Art the world has ever seen. It was Andy Warhol, a Catholic who introduced the idea of sell-out and money and celebrity as Art, which we are digesting through our anuses at the moment, whether we want to or not.

  • @DIONYSES000AD One only needs to do the proper research and one will clearly see the Jews control Hollywood, the news media, Wall Street, Banking Industry, the Mortgage Industry, and Congress. The facts are in and no one can deny this truth. Even some members of Congress and the House of Representatives admit it. So, you can thank the Jews for the collapse of America and the moral decay of our society today. No wonder Hitler hated the Jews, as most countries today do.

  • @BikersFromIreland To blame a decline in creativity on a specific ethnic group of people is ignorant.

  • @wonderwallmusic Your reply is TOTALLY ignorant, I research the FACTS my friend, and you DON'T. Just another biased moron.

  • @BikersFromIreland Hey man I'm not biased, but let's just keep at peace

  • @BikersFromIreland

Cool story bro. You consiracy theorists are a bunch of retards

  • @BikersFromIreland oh and i also hate how everybody is all offended when you say you hate jews but we can make fun of punjabs all fucking day its completely fine

  • immn a 2008im oslakl am,adp-_---_-------ùùùùùùùèjjajan im2yrrsold amòòòòòM,ANAM LUVNIN.

  • I love all types of music. New and Old. Sure, i like rap, techno, that stuff. But Nine inch nails will always be a part of me and have a special place in my heart. Can't people just enjoy music?

  • reminds me of tool, always has. even though ive listened to NIN for years, i should probably think tool sound alot like this but i dunno why its the other way round, none the less, trent is a legend

  • @Gears2warzone nah they all sound the same, the reason is, trent reznor and maynard from tool were friends for a LONG TIME so i guess they kind of influenced each other, but ya they both can REALLY fuck with your head

  • I think it's brilliant that the kids are getting into this stuff it's keeping it alive!! Don't listen to the muso twats they're just wishing they were 15 again!! Keep rockin!

  • I think it's brilliant that lids are getting into this stuff it keeps it alive!!

  • Great song I remember it from middle school, alot of people were into it.

  • I really wish I saw him live before NIИ stopped touring. Oh well, there's always How To Destroy Angels...

  • God bless the people who put entire albums on Youtube. Makes work go by soooo much better.

  • @colbybassmaster Uh oh.... I'm scared to think of a remake by them of this...^^;

  • @SasorisPuppet for good reason XD

  • @colbybassmaster I saw it in the related videos and I tried it out.. I really wish he hadn't done that.^^; But there was a plus... His voice wasn't as nasally as it tends to be.^^;

  • @colbybassmaster A.F.I made a remake of this song!? what the fuckin fuck!?

  • @colbybassmaster actually I like the AFI version better. Then again I was an AFI fan and heard their version before I listened to the original. Also I ever got into NIN when they were big, so I guess I'm a little biased.

  • ya. trent reznor > justin beiber lol

  • I don't even listen to heavy music any more and I still love this song.

  • im 4 years old love nin.... no1 gives a shit fuck off

  • @TheNineinchsnails 4 years old and you have such a dirty mouth? Sad that your parents taught you to swear like that at such a young age. Instead of that, you could be focusing your extroversions or your activities of creativity, learning, having fun, and expressing yourself positively without the need to cuss- save the rude and unmeaningful, weak aversions for later in life, of which there will be many. Respect for individual thought is important, besides keeping yourself busy.

  • @yayeababy im mocking people who tell me there age on youtube videos i dont care your age...your not hella sketch cause you listen to nin your mind is in the wrong place and what you said is totally contrary to Trents view on swearing its funny are you a fan of them?

  • I'm only 13 but my dad raised me on this stuff. He says it's the right way to raise a kid not on that talking/singing trash they call music.

  • This Trent Reznor kid's gonna make it big one day.

    You heard it here first.

  • I like A.F.I version way better

  • @digdug92 thats because your gay

  • Comment removed

  • @colbybassmaster the ridiculous number of exclamation points completely void your statement.

  • It seems to me that the only comments on alot of 90s songs are people born in the 90s saying there a part of it despite what others think. and people born before the 90s saying kids in a certain age range cant like 90s music or good music. hahahaha. just listen to the fucking song. As long as you feel and understand the vibe the song was made for then your straight. Quit trying to obtain a form of individuality and accept your one in a billion of other fans of the same shit. k great

  • @DREZ33 You keep taking about "the 90's": 90's songs, people born in the 90's, etc... yet, this song is from the 80's...

  • im pretty new to nine inch nails, but i didnt think they ever did acid house-esque music like this?

  • @umumgot This is raw NIN it wasn't labeled back then, it blended in with Metal, and rock. People didn't catagorize every band like they do now. You would be a nirvana fan, and a NIN fan and think nothing of it. No house music, or trance seperation. It was just rock when it came out, on all the rock stations.

  • @clutchfloydAIC bullshit! It was under industrialized, and alternative, at least here in Salt Lake city, Back in the 90's. Not at all rock

  • The best sex album ever.

  • @JamesChristian724 /agree

  • this is the first nin record i heard and just got intrigued by them well him(nine inch nails is trent reznor)jeez this brings back memories

  • Who cares about age I like anything from 50's rock n roll to the most recent rock.

  • I'm 15 to ^^ and I LOVE NIN

  • Trent Reznor = Genius. K? Thx, Bye. :)

  • Nope, YOU SUCK!

  • @XxWrekkedxX WHAT?did,you..SAY!!!!!!!

  • @XxWrekkedxX try listening to their other albums, when they where a polished perfessional bandd. dont judge something the first time u listen to itt

  • @alWalwima you are epically right!!!

  • The music is better on this one than on AFI's, but Davey has a better voice.

  • I'm in the process of writing down this potential screenplay which involves, & centers around, the very pivotal & ferocious Battle of Bannockburn that was fought over in Scotland back in the year 1314 between the English forces of Edward the Longshanks & the Scottish forces that were led by Robert the Bruce. For in order to highlight & accentuate the sheer Ferocity of the hand-to-hand combat phase I'd love to have this song playing for at least the 2nd half of that battle!

  • I love it, for this explosive, cutting edge (for its time, 1989!), ferocious & viscerally inspired song has so many elements that smack of rebellion, savage defiance & bursting animosity! Though to whom is it directed??? This ex lover??? This parent??? The strict & controlling dictates springing from this certain sub-culture within larger society??? Pray tell, for I'd love to know. Any ways, Great & Awesome song!!!

  • It's incredible how they sound this good when going live. More so even better :)

  • @KennHeston it's not they it's him Trent fucking Rezor!

  • im old as fuck and i remember the day i bought this album

  • 1993.....?#$@% I was in Daytona...but had a reunion in H'ville....but moving to ATL.?!

Great rave bar in Volusia County though......as much as I hated travelin with retail back in the day...it had MANY PERKS! (and friends)

  • awesome album

  • i'm interpreting the lyrics as pretty anti-capitalist. is that accurate?

  • Right on the nose-Reglion too

  • Doubt it. It would be highly hypocritical to for Trent to blast the capitalist system that makes it possible for him to reach stardom.

  • @ddean1987

That's what I get from it, too. Capital G is another good song of Nine Inch Nail's that's along similar lines.

  • Sounds more like something political to me, like a tyrannical despot ruling over the people.

  • Head Like A Hole!!! A classic Nine Inch Nails single.

  • [.]

  • This album is fucking sick

  • i was barely there for the 80s and i still rock all the greatest music of the 80s... you should listin to the shit i pull out in my car man

  • its sad that we cant make music like this any more with out it being label Politicly incorrect or something that leads people to do things out of anger or will taint our youth.

  • BLACK AS YOUR SOUL! Trent Reznor is a musical genius!

  • amen, haha.

what a great fucking album this is<3

  • This song has a spiritual meaning too!

  • you fucking right :)

  • fags

  • yeah!!!!!

  • Yeah dude its like.... Y0 man! I was rockin' a flock of seagulls back when they were the shit! WHO GIVES A FUCK! ;)

  • Why thank you :)

  • everyone seems to be posting their ages on NIN videos, can't you just like the fucking band? I'm 15, I wasn't around for the whole 80's glory. Get. Over. It.

  • I was 15 when I discovered NIN...but that was in1992...and I discovered them when MTV actually showed videos, before MP3's and YouTube. Forgive us old decrepit bastards if we're a little protective of our generations music.

  • Well, I do forgive you, like I forgive my parents when they talk about their generations of music. I'm jealous of not being around for nearly all the bands I love :(

  • i totally 100% agree

  • i second that motion. :o new bands are pathetic when u compare em to the shit my dad had going for him

  • I wish that people would start caring about the quality and art of music instead of the money & fame. I think that's what has music now being of such low quality. I'm starting to believe in the whole 2012 hype, it's bad!

  • @beautifulmess72

comon man... i am not raggin on you at all but the only thing that will happen 2012 is some bad weather... and people that believe the end is near will start riots... and if it does happen it will be a man made ending

  • @boredashellalways well yeah, i only believe there will be bad weather, naturally speaking of course. but the way mankind is heading, we're gonna get f'ed in the a by all the screwheads. but i dont necessarily believe itll all happen in 2012, i just think itll happen soon enough. so i agree with you... pretty much

  • @boredashellalways

There's a doc on 2012 some where on youtube O_o. Apparently, the Mayans don't think it to be the 'end of the world' as it is just a 'leap of human existence'. We're supposed to enter a new golden age, and stuff like that.

I think everyone's flipping out for nothing.

    *cough* y2k *cough*

  • why is there talk of 2012 on this page?

and what most people don't know bout y2k was that it actually WAS a bug with potential for disaster, but it was solved before any major disaster could occur.

  • @Ophiguris 2012 being a leap in human existence? But the iPad is out already...?

  • @ktrel54

Yeah, but in 2012 it gets half decent software -apparently it can't do flash or java or something and is handicapped with software issues, or so i was told-

  • @Ophiguris Oh no! We've all been decieved!

  • @ktrel54

    Indeed we have D:

  • really people? atleast we can agree that nine inch nails is badass. i wish i was born in the eightys so i could actually grow up with Nails. but i was born in 92 and i can bet i know more about them than most people who did grow up with them, its music, love it, who cares about age, its just a number.

  • so to show them how wrong they are, you do the exact same thing...GENIUS!!!! Now, if they can just take a bottled beer and make it taist like it came out of a can . .WHOA..GO 80'S YEAH ..

  • I feel the same way. This new millenium hasn't given us much in terms of good music. These songs are as old as I am and I wasn't even alive to enjoy the others. I blame Disney and the new MTV for brainwashing people into liking the crap of today.

  • If you think there's no good music today you're not looking hard enough/not looking at all.

  • @alHalwima Blame American Idol too for crap music these days... damn that Simon dick!

  • @alHalwima the crap that you talk of (music wise) well i hope the new heavy metal is not included bc then we would have a problem...but i allwayes say respect the classics

  • @wor10ck1 You kidding? I'm a HUGE Korn fan.

  • @alHalwima me too dude I love Korn and Nine Inch Nails (Korn more tho). i was reallly excited to see whta thier cover of this song would be like, too bad thats not going to happen though :( haha

  • @alHalwima w8 im srry i mis red what you sead i take it back lol XD

  • @beautifulmess72 Right on ;)

  • @beautifulmess72 We just like those years is all, lol! :)

  • @beautifulmess72 You will understand in a few years when you realize how unoriginal everything now is. Every thing we see and listen to has already been done, and now people with no talent and are cashing in on other peoples creativity.

  • @beautifulmess72... ya me 2, lol, anyway, ya your right im 12

  • @beautifulmess72 this is the 90's player. r and d of grunge has already begun. or was it r and

  • @beautifulmess72 and then he posts his age...

  • @beautifulmess72 now you're 16

  • They didn't come out in 1979 sir or girl. They came out in 1989. Unless you wanna count Trent's high school bands too in the early eighties.

  • Best song by this band .

  • I heard this song live first, before this. I honestly prefer the live version a bit better. haha... this is cool though.

  • I be a 40 year old dude who saw nine inch nails back at ohio state and loved it. Trent Reznor is still putting out some good music. Ah those good ole days..

  • you guys know that band AFI? I just found out the other day that they did a cover for it. soooooo gay lol I can't even explain

  • Oh dear God no!

  • @skateNappreciate

they did?! hahah I have to listen to it, must be awfull.

  • still remains redid this song and it sounds really cool

  • aaaaaah <3 :D this is one of my fav ever ^ ^ iv listened an love thiis intelligent band for cupple years :D xxxx

  • And i'm 18, just theres a lot of angry people on here haha.

  • NIN definitely did not come out in 1979. More like 1988-1989.

  • oh yeah sorry thats what i meant. where was i goin with 1979 :L

    my bad

  • I may take the progression of an artist too seriously, but isn't getting stuck on one sound the absolutely worst thing you can do.

And not to mention, this is his life's work, not just something he made up, Those are his emotions. The man will progress to something way more positive, because he understands.

  • ah god I wish he still made music like on this album, I saw NIN play in some Scottish festival on tv, I was dissapointed, the whole image was like some kind of beefed up indie band, and well the sound was sort of like that as well, hate to be an elitist, but when I see scene kids and the like in the crowd singing the lyrics back at him, I feel like I don't want to listen to his music ever again. This album is the only one that's kept me interested really.

  • what about the downward spiral?

  • i jsut saw them in june. they were amazing and played lots of the older stuff and some newer. so shut the fuck up

  • Great song reflecting the power and influence of money towards people. My favourite song on Pretty Hate Machine. I love the live version on AATCHB, aswell. Just awesome!

  • This should be the national anthem of the republican party LOL! Seriously, this song kicks ass!

  • Dont be ignorant man. It should be the song of the entire government! You really advocating that democrats are not crooks lol. Get your head out of your ass and stop falling for the media deviding the american people. Both parties are criminal to the constitution!

  • Not concerned about the sick among the pure...

  • not to say the original version is any less than great

  • much better live haha

  • i love 80's and 90's music and i love death metal and this

  • This comment is for DLynch35

    I totally agree with you!!

  • Bow down before the one you serve.

Youre going to get what you deserve.

  • This song has awesome bass, awesome drums, awesome samples, awesome drums, awesome lyrics, awesome melody, awesome effects, awesome singer...

let's just say, the song is awesome

  • ever see trents pre-nin band on youtube? what happened between that and this? something dark and briliant growing inside that flock of seagulls lookin head of his, wonder if it was the smack

  • Brings back sooo many memories from the first Lalapalooza!!! they are the shit.

  • kids today have no clue or reference point to compare their crap to this

  • Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • agreed

  • @DLynch35 I'm a kid. Well, teen. I can compare my "crap" to this.

    1- Tool

    2- Black Sabbath

3- Led Zep- oh... we're talking about '00 pop so- oh, sorry. Yeah, other than Radiohead, which actually makes that dirty, forgotten thing called 'MUSIC", and Gorillaz, I don't really like modern pop.

  • @DLynch35 I'm 15 and still consider myself a "kid" and i love music like this, modern music is sh!te.

  • @DLynch35 Yeah, they try too, but fail miserably.

  • @DLynch35 I know what ya mean I remember driving around the flats in Cleveland because there was going to be a surprise concert somewhere....got in to the show for a whole $10

  • Love the bass.

  • sounds like a woodpecker at the beginning.

  • Greattttttttttttttttttttttttt songgggggggggggg

  • I'D RATHER DIE, THAN GIVE YOU CONTROL!

  • this song is tight!

  • FIRST COMMENT!!! Thanks for making the video, This song rocks!!!
