I like how when you or the opponent die, you explode but in Battle Assault 2, you just die with no explosions =_=

it really sucks that the damage of full armor zz gundam's special become weaker in gundam battle assault 2. :(

I wish they'd released this in English. I love wing gundam, but the story in this seems like it'd be more interesting than:

at the time i ONLY knew the gundam wing,because i was like 10 years..but boy the story is such a masterpiece of Suckage...return of the living dead??and what is so special about hidra g?i mean the boss psico g mk 3 is a fuckin 3\4 screen sprite,who spam projectile like shit,whit a kick leave 1 energy bar,and the hidra is the REAL boss??suck my boost bandai!!

Also known as Gundam Battle Assault in the US and UK, and a fun game (albeit with different characters) until you get to Big Zam, who can and will own you. HARD.

Basically, Bandai was making a quick buck and decided to put some effort into their product by at least designing new characters; the basic plot is that Earth is reduced to a Mad Max-a la apocalyptic setting  thanks for a shower of meteors, but it seems that a base on the moon is responsible for this shower. It explains why any old folk, from farmer to loli has a Mobile Suit. It's not really set in any Gundam timeline.

No, but GBA was ultimately released in Japan, so they got two versions of what was effectively the same game.

In GBA, Wing replaces the Hamma-Hamma, but is basically a clone of the Zeta Gundam. In GtBM2, Gloria Chamberlain is the main character.

For those of you playing along at home, this was released in the States as "Gundam Battle Assault" with a few changes. The H-Hamma was removed in favor of the Wing Gundam from Gundam Wing, and Heero from the same series was the star of the story mode (instead of that cute female you see here).

We also got a game called "Gundam Battle Assault 2" but with even more subtractions: namely, every Z Gundam unit. My friends speculate that GBA2 was to promote the G Gundam series, which was in the States on TV at the time, and a later installment (that never appeared) would promote a Z Gundam series. It would explain why the Shuffle Alliance appeared, despite not being all that popular. I don't think many wanted Argo over the Nu Gundam becoming a real unit...

I had this game as well, but it was the US version of course. I never understood why the Japanese version replaced the the more famous Mobile Suit and Gundam pilots with new characters. Is the Hydra Gundam still in this version?

yes I have belive it or not both gundam battle assault games and both have the Hydra gundam but the pilot varies form the first game and the second, I belive that in the first game the Hydra was being piloted by Trez from the wing series,while in the second game Trez pilots the Epyon and the Gundams from Endless Waltz appear including the Tallgesse 3 and as for your other point I'm not a big fan of G gundam series either
