Yes, at 3:20 in the video, someone walks through the plaza carrying a Tennessee state flag. Drawing on my 7th grade TN history class (which was in 1983), I can tell you that the 3 stars represent the three "Grand Divisions" of the state (West, Middle, and East). I have forgotten the significance of the blue field and the blue border on the the right edge of the flag.

I was video taping from 4 feet away (I can be seen with blond hair, sunglasses, gold shirt). Cleaver reacted to the guy yelling 'kill it, kill it" quite vociferously I might add. You're lying. Cleaver's reaction is that of someone who's been yelled at, not spat on. The guy that Cleaver reacted to (white cap, black t-shirt) was in the frame from the time of Cleaver's reaction to the end of the clip. As for what the guy was saying to those with him, you have no idea.

Let's add to this the fairly obvious fact from the video that if the man did spit on cleaver, it was an accidental case of "spraying it" due to his shouting. The CBC wanted a provocation, they didn't get one, so they exageratted and invented one. Since the video's all basically vindicate the tea party (showing no spitting and no racial slurs), Cleaver has started refusing to answer questions regarding the incident when asked in the press.

@PrattandWhitney You know what? I agree with you. When looking at it before I was "looking at it wrong"...I was seeing the black (blue) as the symbol ON the flag. Is a bit of an optical illusion. Now, today when I look at it, I CAN see the 3 white stars in the middle of the circle. I KNEW it wasn't the nazi flag someone was trying to say that it was. I'm glad u left this msg. Yes, at 3:20 in the video, someone walks through the plaza carrying a Tennessee state flag. Drawing on my 7th grade TN history class (which was in 1983), I can tell you that the 3 stars represent the three "Grand Divisions" of the state (West, Middle, and East). I have forgotten the significance of the blue field and the blue border on the the right edge of the flag.

Guy shooting the video is in the perfect spot. The group of Congressmen ahead of him are not in the way of the shot.
First Congressman, he was just taking video forward. He wasn't panning around to the crowd until he got right to the spitter. Then he turns and gets a good shot of his face.
The Congressman comes back out to identify the spitter, but can't seem to identify the person he was just looking eye to eye with seconds before.
