That Eastman sound terrific. Or is it you? In any case this is an excellent performance. In particular I like the way you outlined the harmony and still maintained tension and resolution during your improv.
To my ears this is one of your best uploads. I damn sure admire your technique as well.
I was hoping it was a "group" effort ;). Funny thing how that Eastman sounds it's best when I don't mess with it and just plug it in direct, so in essence you just are hearing a cheap pickup.
However, now & then, I forget to turn off whatever Mic is associated with the camera, so I just mix it in to get a bit of acoustic sound.
For this one, I used a "heavily tampered with" Band in a Box track. Just changed the chords to be a little more cool, and then exported to .wav, used transcribe to bump the tempo a bit without pitch-changing, and that was it.
I've used a few others, like Jamie Aebersold (some of which are pretty good), and stuff friends have given me. ~50% are my own playing of other instruments but sometimes just guitar.
I like your comment. Made me laugh.. Unfortunately, if you look a little deeper into the stuff I've uploaded, you will find any number of spaced out insane faces. I'm so zoned when playing that there's no real consciousness, not even about what I'm playing. It's all autopilot behavior. I can't think about music, (or my face) and play at the same time.
Man, you ain't kidding. I look 10 years older in each video. I keep looking at these and wondering, why is my dead grandfather recording my videos? And why can't he figure out how to use the darned equipment?
Being a guitarist that records all the time, maybe you can answer a question for me?
I was wondering if you might have any insight into why the video is so blurry? It just kind of freaks me out that Logitech's best webcam (Orbit AF) can't seem to track my motions. I'm sure it must be a setup problem.
Anyway, thanks much and will stop by and see what you're up to.
I actually got lucky and found the answer to that one problem. I created several more but so it goes. It was a checkbox called 'rightlight' which apparently just cranks up the blur. I was all set to blame YouTube magic 'pixie dust' transformation technique but I guess they can slide this time ;)

I don't know which I admire more, Hashi's chops or his ability to play without making stupid faces.

Hi Freddy,
I actually got lucky and found the answer to that one problem. I created several more but so it goes. It was a checkbox called 'rightlight' which apparently just cranks up the blur. I was all set to blame YouTube magic 'pixie dust' transformation technique but I guess they can slide this time ;)
