rising star means that the top ranked couples are not allowed to enter the competition, thus giving giving the possible next top couples more attention.

I find it funny that you state "rising star can not be professional in definition", as this video was obviously uploaded by gherman mustucs youtube account, who really should know in which competition they entered the finals..

@tranquillity91 That's all because of my bad english. I meant that professional (top ranked, if you want) couples can't participate. That's what I wanted to say:) I haven't said anything bad about those dancers, they're good ;)

Everybody can dance as a professional, thus professionals are not automatically top ranked:)

you see, you can dance competitions as amateur or as professional. Even though top amateurs put in the almost the same amount of work as professionals, they still don't make a living with dancing. Professional means you earn your bread through dancing. But have a look at any dance-teacher in your local dance school: he would have no chance against mediocre to top amateur competitors.....

what I mean is: professional or amateur are two different cups of tea:

there are rising stars competitions, in both "classes", where the top couples in each "class" are not allowed to join, in order to give unknown couples or newly formed couples more recognition.
