  • I'm stoked! I want to do it! I've been sand boarding on the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado with a tramp board that had nylon straps bolted to it. Good fun. What equipment would you recommend I use? Any sand board stores in Japan?

  • @ultramagneticalistic nevermind ur board. must fuck up ur ass if you hit the floor haha! awesome tho

  • is that Gotemba ?

  • would love to try it..but ofcourse not with my snowboard..dont wanna ruin it..

  • @ultramagneticalistic The intensity is in doing it. I have been snowboarding 15 years and this is much harder and scarier.

  • that looks awesome, great job video.. I loved the part .,, 5.40 to 6.00

  • geez it took us hours to go down the back side through that soft black sand/tiny rocks. i wish i could have brought a board and slide down instead of walking.

  • Just climbed Fuji today. Nice video. I am not concerned about the environment of the sand either, but I am curious as to whether or not you asked permission, or were at all hassled, stopped, etc. Nice one, mate.

  • @tomokoschwartz We didnt need permission but I can understand Japanese thinking we might. Hundreds snowboard down here during winter without permission. I suggest letting the Gotenba police know if you are climbing out of season as we know someone who died here getting lost climbing alone and he was on a trip for only three days.

  • thats amazing how long was the hike up and the ride down?

  • @redneck666l The hike up is only 1 hour because we dont go to the top. There is no where to ride at the top as I have been there twice :) The ride down is 20 minutes and a 20 minute walk out.

  • Your comment is too Japanese for me to bother retorting on. Go through the video and tell me what part of Mt Fuji environment I was wrecking please... the lava rocks?

  • muito louco!!!

  • that looked amazing

so do you think the hike up that mt was worth it?

  • The hike up is only an hour and well worth it. It's not the top of the mountain.

  • lol you get brain farts too haah I used to get those pretty often I'd have too many things to do at once lol

  • Pretty fucking cool!

  • looks like gravel

  • next to china

  • dude when your snowboarding you obtain get caught in 1-10 ft viability.i have been caught on mt. hood Oregon where you had to hold your hand right in front of your face to see it and had to snowboard out in -20 F and about 60mph winds! it was scary but they were together and i was alone and i'm only 14.

  • was it scary going through those clouds, not being able to see anything?

  • sick btw how long was the hike up mt. fuji?

  • the hike to the sandboarding spot is about an hour

  • depends where you start from ;)

  • best place to sandboard is in Nambia and dubai....the speed you get is insane lol

    i got 68mph once...thats was ludacris

  • I assume that if it was gravel you tore the hell out of the board, huh? Sweet video

  • Check out the end of the video and you'll see the underneath of the boards.

  • can u use a snow board to sand board

  • You can, it just goes really slow. Good for beginners I guess.

  • how much different is it from snowboarding?

  • not different at all. you're just on sand instead of snow

  • Actually, to tell the truth hurtling down there at snowboard speeds was a lot more fearful than any snowboarding (15 years) I've done. And I've been in an Avalanche. The back edge is VERY hard to get and takes ten times the effort. You always working against immense friction whereas in snowboarding there is almost no friction. I'd say that it requires more energy all round.

  • snow u can go much faster

  • Ofcourse you go much faster. But you can get your thrills in Summer without getting on a plane. Plus there really is no comparison its a totally different sport. Its like asking how is Water Skiing different from Grass skiing. It's just totally different and not as cold.

  • As a fan of boarding, and as a videographer of our own snowboard adventures, I think this is a totally awesome video! Lived in Japan for 3 years and visited Fuji-san on three different trips. On last road trip, we climbed up to the top of Fuji overnight to enjoy the sunrise view. So I can fully appreciate what you guys did here.

  • do you snowboard too

  • Yes, I was at Snowboard and Surf Collection at Ikebukuro Sunshine City in 1990 as a buyer and designed snowboard gloves for Bula the same year. I've been snowboarding over 13 years. Snowboarding was so small then they had to have Surfing booths included! Biggest brands were, Nidecker, Nitro, Burton and Santa Cruz. Cool!

  • nice vid

whered u get the boards from?

home made, snow boards or are there actually official sandboards?

cos i reli wanna ge one for next time i go to south africa.

  • These boards are resurfaced snowboards. The PTEX is replaced with hardened plastic. We sell the boards on our site, sand sports japan. Cheers.

  • It's very cool!

I want raiding too for Mt.Fuji!

  • Love the hi-five at the end. Sweet dudes!

  • cool but it must be hard

  • Wonderful way to climb down Mt. Fuji !

  • jammy buggerz !!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Cool video and adventure. Mt.Fuji is a great place!

  • Cool video it just takes awile for you to staryt sandboarding

  • Fantastic stuff! That looks so much more fun than the three hour jumping jack descent I did the other year. Cheers!

  • its the same route down actually, except we start further down...no need to go to the top! and then we have to hike out on the flat for 30 minutes. Cheers.

  • it has been a dream of mine to just live in Japan!

  • same

  • wow that is very nice.. It has been a dream of mine to just go to Mt.Fuji

  • I've been to mount Fuji (*blows raspberries*)
