i bought this headset on the 14th. by the 16th of march 2009, i was fed up with this headset. it makes these high pitched screeching noises all the time. also, there is alot of echo when you talk into it. the earpiece is generally uncomfortable, after about 25 minutes, it felt sort of like a needle was slowly being inserted into the cartilage in the upper part of my ear, another note is that when the headset is on, it makes this strange noise through the mic. i prefer the official PS3 headset.

The MGS4 headset is like $30 now. I think blue tooth headsets are best because you can be any where in the room and far away from your TV but with the USB headset you got to be close to your PS3 and TV.

I Like The Official Sony Headset that comes with SOCOM Confrontation better, plus it's a good deal. But You can also purchase it without SOCOM Confrontation. I Suggest if you need a bluetooth headset get the official Sony Headset that comes with SOCOM Confrontation. It's a Great Deal.

The majority of reviews I've come across thus far say the sound quality is poor. I saw this at gamestop yesterday and was very tempted to purchase it even at a price tag of $60. I'm glad I did a little research including this review. It's really cool looking, but that's about it. I'd probably buy it for 20$ lol.

So with a PS3 when you wear this you cant also wear a stereo headset to hear the game sounds. Or you wear this and have one ear covered while listening via speakers. Either way, using a one ear'd headset is pointless. You cant listen to the game with headphones and talk at the same time.

This can be done with a PC easily.

Other than a PS3 i have a 360 which came with a wired headset, It's comfortable and all but it's just too bulky. I now use the wireless headset for the 360, it is very very comfortable.

I'm getting bluetooth for the PS3 soon, i may get the Official headset for PS3 or a Jawbone 2.

The Jawbone 2 is kind of pricey but looks cool as fuck. And i could also use it on my phone and not walk around with a PS logo on my head.

the reason why the vol buttons switch places is because they look at it as HOW U PUSH not WHERE ITS POSITIONED. u want to turn the volume down, push down. u want to turn the volume up, push up.u get use to it.

You are wrong, there is a official Sony licensed blue-tooth headset. It is bundled up with SOCOM for PS3 when it comes out. Anyway, enough of that.

Great review, was gonna get this before seeing the official Sony headset, going to get that one instead, it looks just as cool(The MGS one takes the cake for me), it should feel more comfortable, for both left and right ear, and it's much, much cheaper(free if you buy SOCOM).

I'll give you that. It was a pretty decent review of the headset, better than some of the more amateur reviews I've seen. Good thing you clearly noted the fact that it's just MGO that's got the problem with the headset because I've seen people selling it in like after one hour of use because they thought it was the headset.
