As a Christian, I believe that, ultimately, all sin is an offense toward God, as sin, by definition, is a violation of God's commands. Thus, since all sin is ultimately an offense toward God, then, as the one against whom the offense was made, God has the right to decide how the offender is to be punished, EVEN IF God chooses to make Himself the one who pays the punishment for the offense.

What is a sacrifice? A sacrifice is to SUFFER for the sake of something! To feel pain, to feel hurt, to feel SCARED of the pain that is about to be inflicted on you! If you don't feel any of these when you sacrifice for something, then that's not a true sacrifice! I have tried with every ounce of my energy to understand it and accept it but this has just never made any sense to me. The teaching of the Bible is that all of us are criminals guilty in God's court, no matter how big or how little our sins are, God doesn't simply say 'well your sins aren't that great, so I can just forget about it,' the point of Jesus dying on the cross is that it shows the severity of sin in God's eyes, but also the incredible mercy of God for each of us. Even in Islam, God doesn't just let any soul into jannah without paying 4 their own sins by doing good, or even spending some time in hell.

i actually want to quote the entire verse to make matters more clear, if some Christian is viewing this, on all that sineth shall die : Ezekiel 18:20 :

"The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself" this is islams logic too that ones sins are 1s own but the church says otherwise
