  • It's kinda strange cause the camera keep's going back to the frozen man's face and I keep looking if he's real or accidently flinch's an eye, or move's just a hare in front of the camera?

    I think he's a manequin

  • Id seen this movie yrs ago and i havee it in DVD but i was alway's wondering if the man hatchet jack was a real guy that didnt move in the scene,

or a manequin made up to look like a frozen person?

  • I love that fiddle playing when Jeremiah first discovers the body, would love to find a full song like that.

  • @UrLocalPoolman There is now a soundtrack out on cd. It doesn't have this entire song on it, but the soundtrack is coo.

  • i have a 50 cal hawkin flintlock, thats about as old school as you can get

  • Always loved this movie...one of my favorites. Also very proud to now own a .54 cal Hawken rifle. As others can tell you, IT IS THE shit. Very powerful and deadly accurate.

  • and some folks say he's up there still!

  • Classy exit, Jack.

  • This film takes me to another place and time.... and as a full blood native to this land, i am happy to see my people acting instead of white men with make up haha. great film!!!

  • @keepitwitmine Im native german. Hunter . I woud love to go hunting in your mountains, man . Despite Im no mountain man, but an old sailor . Keep your powder dry . Rgds

  • @7berger7 The one time I climbed the summit of a mountain in the Rockies I was accompanied by a German. Santa Fe Baldy in the Sangre de Cristo range, back in october 1989.

  • What's with the echo?

  • what the hell is that sound @ :42 seconds in?

  • That Hatchet Jack was a wild one...

  • I scout and hike in the deep woods of the pacific northwest all the time. I carry a note similar to this one in my pocket, except instead of Hawken it says M1 Carbine. It is my hope that if I meet my end in the woods, that I do so with dignity...or lacking that, I at least leave behind a nice looking corpse.

  • I'm only 12 and it's my favorite movie

  • From my cold dead hands.....

  • No way Hatchet Jack would be using a percussion rifle, but I do love this movie.

  • 415 grn. slug over 125 grains of 3F black powder will take an ELK inside of 150 yards .

A Hawken is still da SHIT for a primitive BP hunt out west . Wish I still had my Cabela's .58 caliber .

    JKM

  • They just don't make Movies like this any more. Hollywood has gone to shit.

  • I love this movie. First saw it around '87 or '88 and I watch it every time it's on tv. Can't remember how many times I've seen it, but will keep watching whenever it is on. Great movie.

  • Mormons were lucky they didn't happen upon the Creek, Choctaw, Seminole, Chickasaw or Cherokee, this movie would have had different ending!

  • yeah man what a site. imagine being in his situation. finding someone who was in your exact position as a human in a forrest not discovered by the least bit. all he had was survival in his head and this man dying by something as simple as a grizzy ( plenty in the sierra nevada ) just baffles me. humans have become weak. anybody today would DIAL 911, or scream their headoff at a sight like this while waiting for rescue. THESE PEOPLE WERE MEN. MEN IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. THEY WERE SAVAGES.

  • Jack was a poet and didnt even know it LOL

  • All work and no play made Jack a dull boy

  • Best.Movie.EVER!!!!

  • The sound on the vid, sounds like you're in a theatre watching. How is that done?

  • ...... from my cold dead hands......

  • Aw, man. He's right to grab that Hawken. I've fired one, and it's a sweet, sweet rifle.

  • It's like when Conan takes the Dead King's sword....ONLY BETTER!

  • in my humble opinion...

top 5 movies of all time.

The acting wasn't all that great. Shitty at times, but the cinemagraphy and setting made it.

  • @hskrfnatic put it this way, I watch it if I happen by it, Outlaw Josey Wales is better though.

  • @hskrfnatic best acting I have ever seen...

  • @hskrfnatic yeah i didnt notice anything wrong with the acting what did you notice?

  • @hskrfnatic up there with the 1964 movie ZULU starring Micheal Caine.both great movies..both won many awards .

  • They don't make movies like this anymore, shame.

  • "Anyway, I am dead." Such a great line.

  • Being of sound mind and broke legs... Damn that's hillarious!

  • Hatchet Jack is by far the best character in any movie period

  • My favorite movie yet! Did anyone notice In the beginning scene there's a sign on one of the buildings that reads; "J.R. Coonan's Saloon" and that John R. Coonan is an associate producer of this movie?

  • at 1:35 does jacks eyes move?

  • sure are cocky for a starvin pilgrim! BEST FILM EVER.

  • That'll be far enough pilgrim!

    Where are yah?

You're a fine target pilgrim! Empty your hand !

l ain't seen a live man in months.

l am Bear Claw Chris Lapp blood-kin to the grizzly

that bit Jim Bridger's ass! And you are molesting my hunt! .. l know who you are! You're the same dumb pilgrim l've been hearing for 4 days - and smellin for 3 !
