American culture is a bit more outgoing than British culture, it didn't say on your channel but I assume you are british. I still don't see this commonly but it happens.

I don't live in Seattle I live in L.A. but I have randomly encountered British about 3 or 4 times just being out and about. Easy to spot if you hear them say something.

It was bugging me that I couldn't put my finger on it, so I checked. The actress was born in England but her mother's a New Zealander so she was educated in both countries, as well as Australia and Germany. So it's a mix. There's more Kiwi in her accent than Aussie, I think.
