Just like travelling back in time. Went to primary school there, I remember my teacher Ms Folkenberg (Canadian section), Ms Dibble (British section), my friend Helen from Norway. Always wondering were they are now. A Greek teacher.
Wow great vid I lived there from 73-84. Best time ever. I Spent some time in school at the Canadian section, and British section. Was good to see it again. Always wanted to go back and see how my old house has changed. I lived in Casteau Homes Thanks for sharing with us..
I was 8-11 years old when I lived here in the early 70s. It was a facinating place for a young Brit to live, loved the exposure to American culture. BowlingAlleys, flavoured gum|Swimming Pool. playing pool and those big Plymouth Satellites. Nice vid.
Just watching this video was tremendously nostalgic. Hard to believe it's been 13 years since I left there. It's really cool seeing it again. I remember living on base and enjoying the sunny Belgian summer days around post. School wise, I went to the American high school, played football, basketball and baseball. I bagged groceries at the GB, worked at the pizza bowl, the North American Mess and at the main gym at the swimming pool as a lifeguard. This video touches on all of that. Thx!
We've lived there for four and half years and we are coming back in less then two weeks. Hardly waiting to get back. SHAPE is one awesome place to live in. And we love Belgium as well.
ive lived 2 and 1/2 years in SHAPE, i miss it sometimes... :X I kinda miss the PB where i we used to get bored all the times :)) i miss the fries with hot cheese though...
was at the International school early 70s lol rue des Canadiens in Nimy then on Mercator on base... always heard the Belgian lady next to us hollering at front door for her children... Monique, Frederique... lol the best Belgian waffles were from a friture stand - deep-fried... haven't seen anything else since! J.
This was amazing. I was stationed there from 1987 to 1991. Oh man...I worked at the hospital...seeing it and the track, the IC Club, the *circle*...etc. that's amazing. LOL...my girlfriend used to work at the optical shop. I cracked up when I saw that. I left in 1991. I miss that place.
Really cool vid!! We lived in Green Park #110,I was there from 72-76...ah the memories!!!went to grade school 2nd -6th grade.the bus drivers always had races to SHAPE!!! My old house on Lisbonne is on the right @ 1:54 where the blue car is parked on the street. Looks pretty much the same as it did from '83-86!

Theese pictures make me sad.. I also loved this... I lived at Avenue de lisbonne 5 and i have to say that for me there is no better place to live..
I always tried to answer the question, what the reasons are, why everybody loves to live there and why I loved Shape.. Can anybody tell me?
