This takes me back to Donnie Darko. Honestly I love Tears for Fears original version But I think This Cover is By Far the best version of the song I have ever heard. Mad Respect to Gary Jules.

@WAR1PATH Actually, as someone who has struggled with depression, I'd argue that his line about 'The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had' is a perfect expression of the hopelessness you feel sometimes. I know those lines ring so true for me that it just kinda hits you. Also, Tears for Fears wrote the song :)

There are two iconic buildings which give this away. I am not sure of exactly the location of the shot itself other than its a view of an unordinary view of New York City in the distance.  The Citicorp tower and Empire State building are in the vid. There is one view of New York that is similar in skyline and that is a view from Hoboken, New Jersey across the river to New York. Thus, I must assume that the Vid was shot in New Jersey but not sure where.

I have to say that I disagree with all the people who've posted about how this song points out what a terrible world we live in. While it does say that, you're leaving it too short. The final lyric is "enlarging your world". The point of the song is that we have to expand our worldview to see BEYOND just the pain and sadness. It's a terrible, chaotic, mad, but beautiful world.

This is a great peice of music because Gary doesn't try too hard, he sounds so run down, BEAT DOWN BY LIVING IN THIS MAD WORLD. His sick sarcasm, when he jokes about "I find it kind of funny" and "Children waiting for the day they feel good, Happy Birthday", both run chills down my spine. :)
