Some glam metal/rock is acceptable: Early Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Van Halen, Skid Row, and Dokken. But they aren't what I usually call metal. I like (My Favorite) Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Slayer, Dio, Venom, and stuff like that. My favorite music goes from 1968-1991, it's very rare for me to listen to anything else

Listen to Testaments formation of damnation, Overkills IronBound, Slayer World painted blood, Megadeths endgame, and look into the newer thrash bands, there's some fucking crazy ones. Gama Bomb, Evile, Warbringer, Mantic Ritual, Toxic Holocaust, Municipal Waste, Bonded By Blood, Goatwhore (if your into the super heavy stuff), Skeletonwitch, Violator, etc. Amazing metal is still out there, just not in the mainstream.
