I think 26 episodes was a perfect amount. The ending was perfect for me. I thought it would end (Spoilers) with Jin and Mugen dying on that last battle, which I would have totally cried if it did. Never the less.. an OVA or an Animated Movie would be nice! ^_^

@sonictheunknown I agree with the first part of your comment. But I actually didn't like the ending. It was five or six episodes of "You two are my best friends, let's never split up." Then right at the end, "See you later" and they each walk in separate directions. It didn't make any sense to me.

I read an interview with the director where he said that he's not planning on a second season or a movie, but he's not completely ruling out the possibility. I really hope there will be a second season and a movie ... but I'm not getting my hopes up :(

samurai champloo compares alott to inuysha because both era take place in the shogun era so sad all the samurai were killed in the civil war it would have been so cool if you could meet a samurai right in front of you especially the legends..

@Rotionpotion Dude, Edo period was from mid 1600's to late 1868, so 1860 was a fine estimate, especially considering the other episodes, like the one with the food eating contest and that westerner, however I realize now that if it was after 1860 they couldn't carry swords, so taking into account that Fuu's dad was a part of the shimabara revolution, a good estimate is 1650 give or take 10 years.
